Best way to burn paracord end is to not burn it.

Instead simply seal it with SUPER GLUE.

Use the Super Glue to coat the piece of Para Cord you wish to cut, let it dry, take a sharp blade lay across the middle of the piece of cord to be cut and tap the top of the blade with wood dowel and cut in the middle of the applied SUPER GLUE. Both ends will be sealed shut and useful at that moment.

Don't always have glue in the field. And I like the simplicity of burning.

I carry super glue in my 1st Aid Kit.

In my case, I prep a quantity of sections, cut at home and have them ready to go.

Burning is very toxic and harmful to your well being.

A good pair of welding gloves and a candle are what I use. I burn the end, and while still soft, I roll and pinch between my fingers, effectively welding the ends nice and tight!

Never mind the burn, just put a figure 8 knot in it.

I find it inconsistent to use an object...see the technique in the video, works every time.

Most people do not have welding gloves. This technique is simpler and more consistent.

Way back in another life I worked in the small engine business. After replacing about a half billion starter ropes in recoil starters you learn just how long to wait after you blow out the burning nylon. Then wet your fingers and roll the tip to a point. No diddling around and you're done in seconds.

i just stick the cut ends on the Oil CookStove Top, right above the Burner, and melt the ends... Works for me for 40+ years...

Please note if you have a big gob of melted nylon on the end and you follow his instructions anywhere in your house... The wife is gonna be pissed and you may have to clean either the wall, celling, carpet, furniture....

    YMMV

You can also use that melted nylon end to "burn" off a wart... I'm not sure I'd try it on genital warts.
