Mr. Aldo Ray was the real deal. US NAVY in WWII served in the u.d.t. Not saying he was anymore of the real deal than any other member of the greatest generation. Just like any other he went, he kicked azz, he came home and went back to work on Monday morning.

That pic of using coffee as solvent has basis in fact. I was known on my Navy ship as making VERY STRONG coffee, "US Navy Mk1 Mod0" coffee, guarenteed to wake you up. The fellers swore my coffee would dissolve a styrofoam cup, and one shipmate used it to clean hardcore crud off the old rubber-over-steel office desk.
Also, my old Seniorchief taught me to use "Orange Bugjuice" - koolade - to clean brass fittings. I'd get a bucket of it from the mess decks and immerse my department's brass firestation fittings in it. Clean, bright and smelled good too!

That was the citric acid they use in cleaning products they sell today .

Bug juice and coffee was always allowed as cleaning agents in the boats. (The Chief of the Boat often insisted on it for deck cleaning by dink NQPs.) Some of the other stuff routinely used on surface ships would contaminate the atmosphere, not a good thing at all. And, as many know, the carbonic acid in coca cola ain't too shabby for cleaning some stuff. Just don't dump it in the bilges; after all acid is acid.

FWIW, coffee grounds can work for polishing some stuff, or at least cutting off surface cruds. I've been meaning to try it on my glass top range.

First the very sad part - Dr Judit Nadal, 47, died after her blue G-Wiz collided with a Skoda Octavia.
Dr Nadal was head of a research facility at Imperial College, south-west London, where she led groundbreaking work into finding solutions to a vast range of illnesses.
Experts at the Transport Research Laboratory were so concerned about the Indian-made G-Wiz that they refused to risk their more sophisticated £130,000 crash test dummies – full of electronic instruments – in the test for fear of them being wrecked. Instead, they used a cheaper, more basic variety.

In the UK - the Wiz (no joke) is classed as a quadcycle. Still street legal in the city.

In the US think - VW Golf.
