I love this thread -- it always reminds me of things I need to do, but it especially gives great ideas.

This past weekend I got the wife to donate some of her clothes for her BOB (a short- and long-sleeve t-shirt, bra, underwear, and thin liner socks). Now if I could just figure out how to pack a Costco case of TP into her backpack...

Got a couple spare FAL magazines from DSA, as well 2 kinds of mag pouches. There's a lot of cool stuff there that's not all that expensive... the metric mags are 5 bucks...

My BOB has changed and grown over the last 2 months, so I need spend this coming weekend re-inventorying and seeing what I'm missing. It's got a long way to go, but it's a lot further than it was 6 months ago.

    50lbs of sugar [gone]

My wife works a company that delivers yeast and other baking supplies. Well she came home the other night and said there was a bag of sugar in the car and could I go get it. I opened the trunk to find the 50lb bag starring back at me.

The bag was damaged (ripped open) so they were just going to toss it. They did toss it, into her trunk :)

Now I have to get some storage containers to put the sugar in since it's just in a paper bag.

Flatbed: what in the world is an Amazon Melee? (It really sounds cool)

This weekend is already half-taken, but I hope to go down to Sierra Trading Post to pick up a pair of walking/hiking shoes for my wife and I. Someone else mentioned there were plenty of Winter Close-out Sales (Target, Kohl's, etc) for various winter supplies like gloves, thermals, etc... Hope I can find something.

This might also be a good time to pick up junk silver. It's currently below $13/oz.

This week I put away three Phone Books -- wrapped them in plastic bags and put up on the shelf. They're just in case I need to call someone during TEOTWAWKI [troll]

Cool bird, mate. Will go well with the patch, I dare say. Now, for that peg-leg... I have just the tools, both for removing the original, and fashioning a wonderful wooden one!:sneaky:

Well, I'm glad to see you didn't put him away with the frozen food storage :^)

I'm heading to the store to get a big container of gun cleaning fluid (probably the multipurpose kind) to put away. My small cleaning-kit bottle is getting pretty low.

Well, can't say that I put anything away, but did get two 16x80 mobile homes on my property---finally. My clan and I are in the process of moving into them. I DO HATE TO MOVE!! We are waiting for power, sewage and water, but don't think we'll wait much longer. I'm sure that, somewhere in this country, somebody needs all this rain much more than we do. I hear that Arizona is fairly dry. Oh well, this too shall pass. Anyway, we are on the move again.

    A DPMS AR-15 :) does that count?

Need to start stockin' up on some ammo for it, but I did put a 100 rounds through it Sat night. Sweet little gun and nice grouping, just a tad off, but easily adjusted :)

Having finally reached the magical "Six Month Supply" mark for basic food items, now I'm working on the additional stuff. Put away a big carton of dry milk, eight cans of condensed milk to add to make it drinkable. Two big boxes of old-fashioned oatmeal, and a box of brown sugar to flavor it.
These won't be "Ten Year Storage" items - They'll last a reasonable time and then be consumed and replaced.
I brought the "ready use pantry" up to snuff too - got enough there to get by for the first month or so - before going into the long-storage stuff.
Just have to remember to keep stocking up as I use it.
Laid in a stock of TP too, and I'm monitoring useage, to see how long a roll really lasts! Right now, I'm considering a twelve-pack per month - that may be adjusted later.
