Obvious Differences Between Mohammad and Jesus

I noted on Twitter just recently someone questioning what they considered an unusual occurrence. That strange occurrence was the large numbers of followers of Islam/Mohammad in the refugee peoples gathering in Europe as they flee their previous war torn countries, and now many of them are converting to Christianity. The observer wondered what the explanation for this was?

My Tweet in response was basically; Now they are free to do so without sure death and torture as a result. Now they were exposed to Peaceful Christianity and were embracing it because of the contrasts between the 2 religions were so obvious.

Then today, I stumbled on this in an email. Makes it all very obvious. Dispute it if you will in Todays World, not the World that was 500-1600 years ago.

The differences between the 2 seem to be exact opposites.
I haven't heard of any of them converting to Christianity , maybe all the bad they're doing is just overshadowing the good. But I still wonder why you see so few Muslim women with these immigrants.

 

I predict that very shortly someone will be along to point out that because some men abused their position in the Christian Church a few hundred years ago there is no real difference between the two religions except that Christianity is actually worse, and oh, by the way God doesn't exist...

 

This day and time, not much surprises me anymore , it just pisses me off.

 

I don't really pay it a lot of attention. The BIG GUY has grabbed me by my short hairs a few times and really spelled things out. Not that I'm anything special, think HE just lost patience with my densitude and just said "EFF IT, EVEN I DON'T HAVE THE PATIENCE TO WAIT FOR THIS GUY TO GET IT... ".

Believe me Chell, I wouldn't step in that mine field, I would circle in the Blackhawk and watch the carnage unfold below! LOL I know better then to incite something like that and then duck and run!

 

C'mon....live dangerously, and enjoy the collateral damage invited for poking the beast into replying....you don't get away so easily! If I do reply to the OP....it will probably be in the inferno....which is a much more convivial place for blasphemy.

 

I'm just wondering if you have actually verified the items in the image or have just blindly accepted it? Much of it is taken out of context. Allow me to share a couple of examples:

Point 2: Encouraged his men to rape enslaved women. Quran 4:24
What Quran 4:24 actually says is:
"And [also prohibited to you are all] married women except those your right hands possess. [This is] the decree of Allah upon you. And lawful to you are [all others] beyond these, [provided] that you seek them [in marriage] with [gifts from] your property, desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse. So for whatever you enjoy [of marriage] from them, give them their due compensation as an obligation. And there is no blame upon you for what you mutually agree to beyond the obligation. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Wise."

There is NOTHING here about raping enslaved women. I think the 'desiring chastity' text really says it all.

Point 3: Demanded captured slaves and a fifth of all other loot taken in war. Quran 8:41
What Quran 8:41 actually says is:
"And know that anything you obtain of war booty - then indeed, for Allah is one fifth of it and for the Messenger and for [his] near relatives and the orphans, the needy, and the [stranded] traveler, if you have believed in Allah and in that which We sent down to Our Servant on the day of criterion - the day when the two armies met. And Allah, over all things, is competent."

So, as you can see, there is NOTHING about captured slaves. And the 1/5 of booty? It goes to God through his Messenger and his near relatives. For what purpose? To help orphans, the needy and the stranded traveler. Hmm...interesting.

I have not checked every reference because I don't have all of the source documents. But can some things in the Quran be taken out of context by some people? Of course they can. In exactly the same way that some people take things out of context from the Bible and use them to justify their evil. Just like the kidnapper of that Smart girl did to justify his actions. Just like Jim Jones did in Guyana.

Instead of just feeding anti-Muslim sentiment why don't you take some time to get to know something about Islam. Why not learn about them? You will find that the VAST majority are peace loving and decry what is being done in the name of their religion. A great friend of mine in high school was Muslim and we hung out nearly every day in my senior year. I've had Muslim neighbours live right next door to me and they were great people. I visited their mosque. They visited my church.

And if you are going to bring up the Christian points, can you say that you are truly following point 5 in the Jesus column?

 

Biggest contrast between Allah and God of heaven . All liars are condemned to hell. no liars in heaven. Jesus said satan is a liar and the father of it.

I dispute "no liars in heaven". Jeremiah 31:34 Jesus said, "For they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

 

While I enjoy discussion of the principles of Exegesis and Hermeneutics, attempting to discuss them and determine relevance in a simple list for seems to be self limiting and leads to a misinterpretation of religious doctrines. There are literarily thousands of commentaries religious scripture depending on which version/sect you choose Christianity (Protestant, Roman Catholic, Catholic, Eastern Orthodox: I have 30 some bibles versions alone) , Judaism (Talmud), Islam (Quran), as well as other groups. If unbiased religious scholars cannot agree in the exact meaning of the scriptures why attempt to do it here? You might as well take a swing at a hornets nest with a two by four... anyway you look at it someone is going to get stung....

 

Allah allows followers of Islam to lie to unbelievers according to the Prophet Mohammad. In fact it is encouraged. Must be a lot of Satanists among the Islamic faith ....

 

I know what you mean.....bigly.....YUUUUUUGLY.....I think the OP compare and contrast style list (and there are many of them floating around the inter-webs) is the kind of anti Islam piñata that some theists here (of a different persuasion) seem to enjoy some sport in whacking the Bejeebus out of. I don't think my efforts at whacking the Hornets nest of smug, self serving, theistic self righteousness implicit in the list might be much appreciated.....but I think I might find it an entertaining intellectual exercise.
