Interesting group/organization IMHO... worth a look to some I guess...

The controversy surrounding Proud Boys is a real mirror on society. Local politicians are demanding we be shut down. How? People are losing their jobs for associating with us. The ADL is warning the world about us, and what do we do? We drink beers and goof off.

We are all races, sexual preferences, and religions. It's just a normal men's club. Why do people care so much about a private club? These used to be everywhere. All over Britain and America and Canada from the 1600s up to the 1980s, and then feminism decided men shouldn’t hang out and that was that.

The fact that something so benign is considered so controversial is proof the pendulum has swung too far to the left."

Yes, men's clubs have gone away, but replaced for many by forums like this fine one!

 

What can I say...some clubs have bizarro initiation rituals....I guess not weeping when they are arrested and prosecuted is a test that has to wait until they start counter protesting counter protesters. me a river....

Reading the quoted article in the OP....the Proud Boys 'almost' seem wholesome Those poor, hard done by, misunderstood lads...they wouldn't hurt a fly I suppose....

I think you're a master of understatement, OldDude..... researching their folkways and customs has been highly entertaining...., and slightly disturbing....Remember......"Chex, Cheerios, Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes, and Special K” however, mentioning, Kellogs Chocos or Froot Loops may well get an initiate, a more prolonged beating!

 

Some of their supposed beliefs about women needing to be housewives only are pretty isis like. I don't mind any woman (or man) who chooses to stay home with her kids but I will not have that way of life forced upon me.

 

Heck if men want to have their "man clubs" like elks, moose, masons etc fine with me. I don't even go to the vfw although I am a member because its all men. Nothing against men. My husband who is my best friend happens to be one. Most of my coworkers in my civilian job and in the reserves are men. I usually get along better with men than with other women. I just wouldn't want to join a "man club" like that.

Nope.
Step right please...you're walking slightly to the left and 2 steps back when making leaps of judgement comparing them to followers of the religion of peace.

Sigh...i suppose "words are violence" in your world too...so I expect no less asshattery.
Your perception is not their reality....your safe space should rightfully be several yards away from these "Men who aren't ashamed to be men."

1. I got that infprmation from one of the linked stories that claimed they were all for 1950's values about women being housewives.

2.The religion of peace can kiss my butt.
3. I am neither fully rightwing nor fully leftwing. I am centrist right leaning.

 

I have no problem with men being men. Women who want special treatment based on gender are part of the problem. Why say you want to join an organization for their traditions when your joining will destroy all of those traditions you claim to want to honor?
