I think that you have missed the point of the aphorism.....hers is not an anti 2A statement....

Killing terrorists doesn't solve the problem of terrorism, and it is a very inefficient way of reducing terrorism....killing the underlying ideology that is the source and sustenance of terrorism...that is a matter of replacing a toxic belief system with a belief system that is more benign....education in critical thinking, scepticism, free enquiry....they are the things that terrorists abhor...

Malalia isn't suggesting that people shouldn't have guns, or that guns aren't necessary to protect those who are attempting to effect change by way of education....

To use an analogy.....

Pharmaceuticals and hospital treatment can help cure patients with cholera and typhoid......but without, public health education and sanitation measures, the source environment conducive to continued outbreaks of the disease will remain.

 

it's okay - Chell - I got the `meme on the first bounce. Terrs hate smart/educated anyone and really hate educated women. I don't partially care for anyone that wants to live in 903 AD, but that's just me.

But to have educated anyone - you have to have a society with enough surplus that allows folks to take the time for schooling.

 

Agreed.....though, even a modest amount of education has a multiplier effect.
