In a way stuff that isnt overly apealing can be good for putting in a BOB just because you know it will still be there if you NEED it as opposed to the candy bars you raided and forgot to replace, besides whey you get hungry enouph most anything tastes better.

True, very true. However, due to mine and my wifes rather sensitive tummies (I can eat firey hot wings all day long, but give me something with peanut oil and I'll live the next 3 days sittin on the crapper eek3) We want to get some of the emergency bars and try them out. Not really wanting the best tasting stuff, but at least something that won't cause more problems.

On that note, the 1200 cal bar I got was the Mainstay bar. No adverse reaction with it, it tastes OK, pretty dry though. I had one block (400 cal) for breakfast and that lasted about 4 hrs (sitting a my desk at work) before I started getting hungry again, but it was time for lunch anyway .

I'm still waiting for the wife to try it out and let me know what she thinks.

Oh yeah, I also just got $10 (face value) in silver coins put away.

That's a sweet little rife, E.L; I'll wager doughnuts to anyone that it went to the range today since it was your first whole day off since January.[troll]

Well, that was exactly the plan. I was going to go shoot it with my neighbor, but he didn't show up. Then we got to riding four wheelers and playing with the kids and next thing you knew it was dark. NO!! Hopefully one day this week I will get to burn some powder. If I do I will give a range report.

I really like the "hi speed, low drag" stuff.

Well, since things lightened up a bit financialy and got the bills caught up (and am supposed to start a new job in amonth or so that will be a lot better), when I got my tax refund last week we went shopping. I got me a Bersa Thunder .380 for CCW when I dont want to or cant carry my .357. I also picked me up 200 rounds of WWB for it and 40 rounds of Hydroshock all for about $300 out the door.

Then we went to another shop and picked up a little Pheonix .22 and a brick of shells for Tina to get used to a handgun and be able to practice with it.

I also picked up a bore snake in .38 cal and one in .30 cal.

The whole AWB thing has really p*ssed me off. So I thought I should stock up and put some capitol into the industry. I also went ahead and renewed my NRA and TSRA memberships. I am sure that the bill will go nowhere, but it did give me an excuse to stock up. Last time I got caught with my pants down and I couldn't buy what I wanted for the price I wanted. Pre-ban stuff was through the roof.

Really, I am not paranoid, now where's that damn war paint......

Actually, the soldiers in your "invisible army" heard your grumblings and are looking to me for re-supply. ;^)

I hear ya there E.L. I didn't get started in firearms until the ban was halfway through. Now that I am trying to get "stocked" up, we are in a bind financially. But hopefully within the next 4 weeks I'll be puttin' in an order for an AR, workin' at a gun range helps :)

Got my Lee reloading press on the way along with some supplies to start reloading.
My wife picked up some more canned goods while shopping this weekend.

Hopefully within the next week we'll have the money set aside to purchase a generator :)

Got a new dehydrator - happy homeowner model - to replace my old kaput one. It's small, but a whole lot better than firing up the oven for days on end ;).

Need to start buying ammo again. Must be hunting season - the hunting & camping section at Wal-Mart (cursed be its name) was jam packed with good ol' boys buying shells and pretty cammo wear. Several coolers went out with the ammo, too, kinda scary. [booze]
