"How" has been done in the past - Blackjack Pershing certainly knew what it took. In the current political climate it's too brutal a step to take even with terror attacks on a daily basis. One thing that has to be dealt with is that many if not all of the terrorists on these suicide missions do it partly so their families will be taken care of. That incentive needs to be taken away by removing the money supply. If it doesn't work that way, you would likely need to target those family members to remove the incentive. I would prefer to have things work out peacefully, but if that can't be done it will require the west to be brutal beyond the imagination of the Islamists.

That's the problem an IED can be made to look like anything be set off by remote, timer, use instrumentation or be part of some kind of booby-trap.

An adroit moving of the goalposts, 3M. (Moving the goalposts - RationalWiki)
In your post #15200 you bemoaned the implied cowardice of a 2017 anti terror poster by comparing it with 1939 era British propaganda posters...and I answered your moralising in my post #15201. However, you've latched on to a minor fragment of my post to bang on about the distinctions between ('armed') citizens) and (royal) 'subjects', and bemoaning that British citizens a rendered bleating sheep, simply because they are unarmed (by virtue of not enjoying 2A style rights).

    In answer to your question:
As far as I can tell, the poster is not a British Government poster, It is sourced to an African NGO 'Epuka Ugaidi' which means "Avoid Terror" (in Swahili), judging by its website which focusses on counter terrorism news principally in the Africa, but also further afield. It features a bounty bulletin board for the heads of terrorist leaders and operatives which is very redolent of the US 'Wild West'.

Given that in the Horn of Africa, governments cannot be relied upon to actually intervene against terrorists (which some governments actually support), Epuka Ugaidi tends to emphasise running, hiding, and aggressive self help/defence...because there isn't likely to be anything useful in the way of timely and decisive assistance from their goobermint.

When I assess the risk as medium to high (large crowds / events etc)....I don't go about my business without the capability of defending myself, and if necessary, defending others. Am I going to go Dirty Harry with a big bore wheel gun?....No.... I ride under the radar of LEO interest, but am prepared for violence if and when it might occur.

Looks like they don't much like Kaliningrad or Lithuania either....what self respecting terrorist is going to run amuck in places that nobody's ever heard of, and couldn't find even with a non digital Atlas?

In other words, no the poster you implied was distributed in the UK was in fact from a country some 5,000 miles away and not created by a government. Instead of writing a mini novel bordering on personal attack (a sure sign you argument is poor) you could have simply said "No official agency released this. It was made by an advocacy group in Africa." IMO this is the poster the UK should be distributing.

I'm pretty much done with this line of off topic posts in the Motivational Poster thread. If you care to discuss further please open a thread in the Inferno and maybe a moderator will move the related posts there and clean things up here.
