Ok, I haven't been posting too much lately, but I definitely think this is worthy!
The UN came out and called on all citizens to stop eating meat because of "Global Warming"! [LMAO]
Eat less meat to avoid dangerous global warming, scientists say
This morning I pulled up DrudgeReport and look what I found. These articles are roughly 6 months apart.
Tick Bites Linked to Red Meat Allergy
I think it's all a little too Coincidental to be a coincidence!!

They are flat wrong!! Human body temperature is ~98 degrees, therefore people would have to completely stop eating in great numbers to significantly reduce the Earth's temperature.

We need to get the word out to these people to "Just stop eating, it is for the Environment".

We have carbon budget? All that is just goofy.

The tick article is very odd. I have been wondering on the rise in ticks and the ailments they cause. Some people never recover after being bit.

So do you think the ticks are something science created?

Also serious here. Evolution can be forced rather easily and scientifically. These days, monkeying around with genetics is exactly that. Sure, one might meddle with ticks. So far as wondering if that is the origin of this affliction that kills, that would assume nefarious intent. For sure, I haven't a clue.

So back to the whole eat less meat to combat global warming. I am not buying it. I think the cattle industry still has less effect on the ozone then many other things out there. Makes me wonder if PETA wrote the article.

That tick thing has got to be the weirdest thing I have read in eons. Bites you and WHAM-BAM you are allergic to red meat... @Motomom34 let's not discount your thoughts on the matter so quickly...because in all my years and miles traveled I have never heard of such a thing before. Has anyone else? Ever?

EDIT: As far as eating red meat... Bugger'em! I have gone without good meat all those years and now that I am back home it's steak until I start mooing!

Ticks like any other bug are a product of the environment! Take an area that has few Mammals, you wouldn't have a lot of bugs that affect those mammals! Now move several thousand head of cattle into an area and guess what's going to happen? Yup, Bugs multiplying exponentially! Any one ever hear about the genetic experiments done in Brazil with Honey Bees? You know how that one turned out, RIGHT? No more regular honey bees in both North and South America!!! I would be willing to bet that some where, some one tried to genetically modify a few ticks for what ever reason, and we are seeing more of them now! Just a thought!

Regular honey bees in North America were replaced by European honey bees many years ago because American honey bees were too lazy, perhaps they were on Welfare...

Ah...the stuff that conspiracy theories are made of.....this thread is well placed in the tinfoil hat lounge...

A vague, uncited reference to a UN pronouncement, (a frequently used sure fire conspiracy theory ingredient); mix with two articles on virtually unrelated topics: one article referencing meat production and consumption's relationship with global warming, and the other, an article referencing the relationship between red meat consumption and a microbial-pathology spread by parasitic vectors, and voila....speculation that there is some link between the two articles beyond mere coincidence.

You have offered no actual evidence of a link, other than that one article was relatively closely published after the other and that both articles involve meat consumption. As if joining the dots between the two articles in one's own imagination actually validates that some conspiratorial link actually exists between the two articles.

The suggestion that the two cited articles were published roughly 6 months apart is inaccurate and misleading.

Tick Bites Linked to Red Meat Allergy

    (publication date embolded by chello)

The actual time difference between the publication dates of both web articles is in the order of some 2 years and 5 months....not the 6 months that was inferred in the OP.

The connection between tick bites and red meat anaphylaxis, had been established as far back as 2008 by an Australian Immunologist (Associate Professor Sheryl van Nunen of Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital) Tick bite causes meat allergy › Dr Karl's Great Moments In Science (ABC Science)

The following podcast features Associate Professor Sheryl van Nunen: - warning....classical music may be broadcast periodically through the course of the interview. Professor Nunen explains the tick bite - red meat anaphylaxis link in quite straightforward terms. I don't think Sheryl van Nunen is in the pay of anti meat producer lobbyists.

The Deadly Secrets of Plum Island
Spitfire List | FTR #480 Plum Island, Lyme Disease and the Erich Traub File
    is inaccurate and misleading.
I simply looked at the date ate the top of each article. April-Oct is roughly 6 months
I find it hard to believe that no one thinks it's feasible, that this could be a GMO organism. This is how so many of the Conspiracy Theories which have turned out to be facts, were able to go on for so long before being thrown out into the light.
After all it's not like they've never experimented on US citizens before.
There are a couple threads here on the Monkey that bear witness to that!

Whoa there good buddy....the thread gets kicked off with two web articles, that are not actually sourced from the Drudge report web link Tick bites that trigger severe meat allergy on rise around the world that seems to have excited your imagination....and now you are citing some different web articles in post#16 of this thread, also not directly related to the Drudge Report referenced link as evidence of your "too coincidental to be coincidental hypothesis." Methinks there's a bit of Texas sharp shootin' happening here... with posts#1 and 16.

    upload_2016-10-8_22-26-41.
    upload_2016-10-8_22-37-13.

Citing the web articles in post #16 doesn't save the credibility issues identified in post #1 and discussed by me in post #13 i.e. providing credible evidence directly linking tick bite attributed red-meat anaphylaxis with UN pronouncements about meat eating and global warming. In fact it undermines your OP.

Firstly....you haven't offered evidence that the bacterial aetiology of Lone Star tick red-meat anaphylaxis referenced in post#1 is attributed toLyme disease, referenced in post#16

Secondly....the time difference problem between the articles referenced in post#1 is not rectified by the actual dates the web articles were published, referenced in post #16

    For Example.....

    and

The preceding articles referenced in post#16 are actually 2 years and 10 months apart not the 6 months suggested in post#1 or the approximately 6 months suggested in post #16.I may be wrong but the dating problem seems to be a matter of focusing on the month of publication, and not taking into account the relative years of publication.

    Thirdly:

Evidently conspiracy theorists are probably inclined to believe the feasibility of this hypothesis....but it does not logically follow that the mere possibility that the bacterium may be a genetically modified organism is the most probable possibility.

    Fourthly:

    This is a non sequitur.

Although undoubtedly US citizens have been experimented upon, it does not necessarily follow that Lone Star Tick red-meat anaphylaxis is conclusively linked with human experimentation. Having made the positive claim, that human experimentation, GMO organisms and the UN are linked in some grand conspiracy, the burden of proof is on the conspiracy theory proponents to furnish conclusive evidence that the claim is true....offering "it seems legit" or "feasible" doesn't even come near to satisfying that requirement.

The problem with UN is that though the effort is noble there is no accounting for abuse and people in power pushing their own agendas . They tease with hi ideals but have a darker agenda believe me.

Just a NOTE, here: It is NOTE the tick, that would be the issue, but the BUG or Virus, that was being spread by the tick, when it bites you.... Any old tick, mosquitoes, Black Fly, or whatever your choice of biting thing is, will do as a carrier, and infection vector....
