Just to clarify, shooting deer at a feeder is legal here in Florida as long as it is constantly maintained. Just going out and dumping a bag of corn and shooting deer or other game over it is illegal. We also have no shortage of deer. In many cases special permits are issued to farms and plant nurseries to allow them to reduce the population of both antlered deer and does to reduce their crop losses. I do find the sign humorous and would post one at each feeder just for laughs.

Athens, GA: Police are investigating after a Georgia woman scared off a would-be burglar by acting like a dog. No, this isn’t a joke. The Athens Banner-Herald reported Monday that the woman scared off the suspect around 11 p.m. Saturday. According to police, the woman got on the floor and began scr

A breed not often seen in the US is the gorgeous Leonberger. A long-haired gigantic beauty from the Molosser/Mastiff ancestry of dogs.

Back in the 1840's, the Mayor of Leonberg, Germany, a northeastern city in Germany, set out to find a dog that would resemble the lion on their town's crest. Behold, he mixed large breed dogs until he got the noble Leonberger...aptly named after his hometown and affectionately nicknamed the "Leo".

With a touch of New Foundland, St. Bernard and possibly the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog - the Leonberger possesses many wonderful traits, most specifically lots of hair, lots of size and lots of loyalty. As the St. Bernard and Newfies are descendants of the famed Molosser dog type, most noted for the Mastiff, they are known for guardianship or their search and rescue techniques.
