Mice can move in anywhere, and before you know it they've chewed into everything that's not it metal or glass. They ruin more than they eat and generally abuse your friendly hospitality. Mousetraps that go "SNAP!" and splash mouse brains all over the place just teach the other mice not to go for the bait. Here's a quieter, simpler, way to trap a mouse that won't warn the others off and won't scare your fingertips to death when you set it. All you need is an empty plastic bottle, to start. The video is just one way of making the trap. Be creative. I made mine out of one plastic bottle, one left-over coathanger from last year's weenie roast, and a scrap of drywall I had lying around from doing some wall patching. Plus an old washer with a bit of tape to balance it perfectly. I
Somehow, humane (or catch and release) just doesn't enter my mind when it comes to de-mousing the house. That is clever, all the same, even tho' I won't be building one. (Now, had I a snake or falcon that needed to be fed --)
I appreciate the thought that went into this design, but to me a good mouse is a dead one-esp if found in the house. I wonder if the idea could be adapted for larger game such as squirrels. A set and forget kind of trap made out of junk laying around for adding to one's food supply while you are off on other tasks PSHTF?

Oh ye poor soft hearted fools. Kill thee vermin as effectively as ye can. They carry disease, and will crap and pee on that they do not eat. Besides their bodily fluids, what other horrid gifts do you think they might perhaps leave you or your friends and family. Kill them I say !!!
Good old fashioned snap trap for me, however Mrs. Joe prefers the glue traps.....either way; the only good mouse is a dead mouse if he has invaded my space!!
I really like that mouse trap with the magnetic trigger. There wouldn't be any problem with the mouse learning how to beat that trap if it dumped them into a bucket of itty-bitty little punji sticks. Nice sharp little punji sticks, with lots of poo. I really don't like rats or mice. The great thing about the bottle trap is how easy it is to take them out to the chickens. Actually, if I had my way, I'd put the odious little beasties on an HO scale model of Mr. Boneshredder (As in Nothing But Trouble, 1991, starring Chevy Chase) and cheer every time they rang up a bullseye.
I have been trying several traps and the only effective one has been the sticky paper. I put it out with a BB gun, remove the mouse and reset the paper .
My wife will love this one...she doesn't want to kill the cute little meeses...she just wants them out of her house.
These are the traps we use. The package said precision strike technology and it was correct. Easy to to load and get the critters out. I will never go back to those wooden traps after using this one. Mice once got into a package or Oreos. I am still holding a grudge.
Last rodent I got hold of met the concrete apron at work....at a rather high velocity. Truly despise rats and mice....disease-carrying, flea-infested vermin...
A good item to have in your preps, those wooden Victor mouse traps. They are useful for many other applications besides mice
They can be used as improvised trigger mechanisms for a number of snares, traps and umm, defensive countermeasures lets call them
