What's your favorite shotgun?

Mine is the Model 12 Winchester in 12 gauge followed closely by the Ithaca model 37. I like them both because they will fire when the bolt locks into battery, if the trigger is held down. I have several shotguns to choose from, but the 37 is the first one I reach for. It seems to cycle faster and more reliably than anything else I have ever tried.

I like my 870, it is stupid proof.[booze] (That ignores my trap gun, but that's not a particularly good defensive weapon.)[touchdown][pop]

I can tell you my least favorite is any cheap .20 double-barrell breakdown. Had one that had a tendency to pop open right as you fired. Almost caught a face full of fire. Hated that shotgun. It now lies in the bottom of a lake somewhere in MS.

I liked my uncles Winchester .20 pump. It was pretty good though I'm not a master of weapons so I can't remember the model number or anything except it shot well. I shot his .12 as well though I liked the .20 better.

As far as cool factor, I go with my Siaga 12C. As far as practical and functional and fast, I like my Maverick 88 (Mossy 500 copy) close in, and my Smith and Wesson 12 further out.

Ruger Red Label 12. It's the over/under on the right.

Fine bunch of birds Blackjack. Nice looking guns as well. Not a big fan of break-downs though if it works that is all that matters.

Well, my one and only SG is a Mossy 590-A1. I love that SG!! Since it's a Home Defense weapon I'm planning on doing some mods to it to help in that area. Swapping out the forend with a surefire forend is one for sure. It sucks that I'll have to grind the bayonet lug of, but then again, I don't plan on using the lug anyway.

I think now I'm going to go try and get me a Win 1300 Defender. I looked it up and I like it. So that's possibly my new favorite. Haha.

For sporting clays, I like my Ruger red label stainless. For tactical, Remington 11-87 police tactical. For short work, 870 with pistol grip.

[fnny] Horsefeathers. Only them as ain't yet shot a Citori would say that. Nearly bought a Red Label 'till I shot a friend's and found it just does NOT fit my scrawny frame, not to mention the heavy, brutish outline and form. Now, don't get all het up, fit is far more important than form when it comes to competition or hunting guns. My Ruger handguns are da bomb. :D

I'm a pretty large framed guy, so it fits perfect :)

And how dare you call my sweet, sexy red label "heavy and brutish"!!

    I smell a feud a brewin......[fight2] ;)

About as svelte as a wart hog. Now, just hang a picture of a Citori next to one of a Red Label and tell me which has the most graceful lines? Like comparing a Yugo to a Maserati.[own2]

[fnny]Wrong Citori, and I agree that one is a bit, um, antiquated (and field oriented) in design but holding hopes for the future. I have the XT trap, much nicer lines all around. Makes the Red Label look like weathered snake vomit. For field work, I have a thoroughly beat up 870 that loves hard work and is easier to carry than any double ever will be. Beat yourself up hauling that "thing" if you like -- [LMAO]
