Add mine to the list as well GG. I know the pain of losing a wanted child. My wife and I suffered through numerous miscarriages before finally having my son.
I was looking back over this thread. It was started over 5 years ago. A lot of prayers during that time. Some answered, some not. But I firmly believe in the power of prayer, I have seen it work miracles. I have seen people with debilitating ailments fully recover. And not some Benny Hinn faith healing show. But when devout people of faith join together and petition for a specific thing it gets God's attention. I was involved in a healing ministry many years ago and witnessed many things that served to strengthen my faith. One man was sent home to die. He had advanced stomach cancer and the doctors couldn't do any more. They told him to go home and enjoy what time he had left. After an intense healing session he went back to the doctor and they could find no trace of the cancer. My wife was a nurse at the hospital and she talked to the guys doctor and he told her he was just baffled, he couldn't explain it. I saw a woman who had a deep unhealing gangrenous wound in her stomach. A deep gouge a half inch deep and 3 or 4 inches long. I watched as it knitted itself closed in under a minute, leaving just a pink healthy scar. It freaked out some of the people around us, including the woman we were praying over. So I know that prayer is a powerful force and that miracles can and do happen everyday. They are not just stories from the bible. It is quite out of character for me to ask for help from anyone for any reason but I come to you to ask you to join me in sincere, devout prayer for healing. My oldest daughter has been diagnosed with advanced cervical cancer. She is stubborn like me and kept pushing on and ignoring her pain. When she finally went in to get checked out they discovered what it was and that it had already spread. Where it is, and as much as it has spread they tell her it is inoperable. Her only recourse now is intensive chemo and radiation. And that depends on the results of tests being done now to see exactly where all it has spread to. Even with the chemo and radiation they aren't very optimistic. She is only 34 and has 5 kids under 10. Needless to say I am torn to pieces about it. Her and I have been estranged for some time now, ever since her mother and I divorced. So it is a double whammy. And I am on the other side of the planet and can't be there with her. So I ask all of you of faith to join me in prayer for complete healing for this young woman, for the treatments to put it into remission and for her to remain with her family for many years to come. God bless
Today I heard a story that was a true testament to prayer. It was a miracle. My heart breaks for your daughter. She has such young children that need their Mama. I will keep her in my prayers. May she have the strength to fight the battles ahead of her.
MM, my heartfelt prayers for your daughter and all those who love her. You ask for the prayers of devout people of faith but even those who may not meet that particular definition will join me, I am sure, and send their healing thoughts.
I am sorry that your eldest daughter is in a dire situation with regards to her health, and I am sorry for the distress that you and your family are experiencing as a consequence of her situation. My thoughts go with you, her, her immediate and extended family also. I wish her and her family well with her fight against the big C. It takes a tough constitution and much courage to undergo both chemo and radiation therapy. She will need all the practical help and resources that she can muster to sustain her in her fight. She has much to want to live for, which is a plus. It would also seem that she has a lot of love headed in her direction, from the folk at SM and from others who know and care about her in her present situation. As awful as are the circumstances, I hope that this will be an opportunity for you and your daughter to find a reconciliation from your estrangement. That would be a very positive outcome for the both of you, from something that is presently breaking both your hearts. Best wishes to you both from chello.
Moderator's NOTE: I would like to acknowledge, to our newer Monkeys, that the "Prayer Closet" Thread, was implemented for Just THAT purpose... A place where Monkeys, can Ask For, and Receive, Prayer Support, for Themselves, Family, Friends, and Associates. We all use Our own GOD... to reach out to, as we understand that concept, individually. This is NOT a Thread for Expounding, Religious Belief, Faith Promoting Experiences, or Individual Statements of Religious Belief.... If that is your intent, Please just start your own NEW Thread in the "Faith and Religion" forum... That is where such things belong...
Thank you Chell for your kind thoughts. I appreciate it. And everyone else also. BT, yes you are correct, this Thread is for prayer requests only, not religious discussions, debates or personal correspondence. I deleted a few posts to clean up the thread and keep it on track.
She got the results of a body scan and it has spread to her lymph nodes. She starts chemo and radiation on Monday. 5 days a week, 5 hours a day for 5 weeks. Then a 4 week break then another 5 week round. She is a little thing, never weighed more than 100 pounds soaking wet. She is strong and stubborn tho. My youngest daughter is the one I am more worried about. Her mother was, and still is a drunk. Her sister was 14 yrs old when she was born and she has been like a second mom to her most of her life. She is really taking it hard. Thoughts and Prayers for both are much appreciated.
I know that there are no words that can give you comfort at a time like this. Please know that special thoughts and prayers, not just tonight but in the coming months, are being offered for your daughter and all who love her, you included.
Minuteman, I just noticed that you're the chaplain. So have no fear, God's in charge and the rest of us are praying. Healthy concern is okay.
Wrap them in your strength and faith Minuteman. No matter what don't let go. Prayers out for you all.
