Picked up the wifes Springfield XD-9 today :) She's going to the TN Handgun Carry class on Sat, and will apply for her permit next week. So hopefully before Jan she will be licensed to carry her firearm, legally.

I also picked up a couple of pounds of rice and beans and put them into storage. I know, it's not much, but right now it's just my wife, myself and my 2 1/2 year old - who loves rice and beans :)

Hopefully before the end of the week or next week I'll get my HD shotgun and get to the range to get used to it some.

Added some batteries for flashlights as well.

I just took delivery of my second firearm within a month :) First was the Springfield XD-9 for my wifes carry gun.

Saturday night I took delivery of the home defense shotgun. A Mossberg 590A1 :)

Next up, a nice AR, that will be sometime in mid December. It sure is nice working at a gun range :)

Well, we had 10 1/2" of snow in Oklahoma last week, and between that and Blackjack asking about heating his new apt., I started looking at my winter heating preps, and ordered a 23,000 BTU Kerosene heater from Northern Tool, on sale for $99.99. Went to Lowes and bought 5 gallons of kerosene.

Save yourself a little money and buy diesel from the local farm sales operation. Burns just like kero, but a bit cleaner, and like as not cheaper, too. Not taxed if for off road use, and I think a heater qualifies --. (But read the owner's manual to make sure diesel is OK in that unit.)[dunno]

I got a handcrank radio and flashlight. They are on the cheap end, though it will do until I get better ones.

Been putting away fire wood little by little, 100 pounds of loose mineral salt from the feed store to use as ice melt. Plan to try to pick up another garden hose this week so can top off the water barrels since we have been useing them while the pipes are frozen. Over the next couple of weeks get to butcher 4 pigs, 2 of them for our freezer and 2 of them in trade for the 2 we get.

Good week, got 4 cords of firewood for next year, to replace the wood I am burning this winter and a Saiga 308. Wish I could afford one of those fancy rifles, but it shoots well and I am working on reloading for it as well as my old Springfield 06. When you think of something that was made 90 years ago and is a 100 year old design and still functions as well as anything made today, you know it has to be a keeper.
