I know that....just doing what trolls are supposed to be doing....trolling ;)

I truly don't understand anyone who would deny themselves the pleasure of enjoying the brilliance of my posts by having me on their ignore list. I certainly don't deny myself the entertainment value of Taku's posts in that way. :(

Brilliant? Maybe now and then. Boring? Frequently. Posters, well, I have no argument with them; and they may as well come from Kuribati as long as they fit.

If there was a self-sardonic smiley on the smileys toolbar, I'd have used it. The sarcasm smiley wasn't quite the right fit for my sardonic remark about my own "brilliance" ;)

I think the first picture is of an animal podiatrist inviting a Cassowary to a pedicure.

Following the long hot summer of 1932, wild emus in the Murchison district of Western Australia went on the rampage in search of food and water. In a bid to stop the advancing emus along the rabbit-proof fence farmers enlisted the help of the army. Armed with Lewis machine guns and 10,000 rounds, a party, led by Major Meredith of the Royal Australian Artillery, was sent to the Campion district where it was estimated 20,000 emus were causing damage.

One of the first battles ended in a spectacular failure on the part of the Australian farmer-soldiers. About 100 emus had gathered in one place, and the soldiers decided to ambush them with one machine gun, thinking that they could take care of most of them pretty quickly. After about a dozen bullets fired, the machine gun jammed, giving the birds ample opportunity to run off, escaping to fight another day.

The end result of the war was arguably that the emus won via outlasting the humans. While there were no human casualties, only 986 of the roughly 20,000 emus were killed, and 9,860 bullets had been used up. The soldiers and the government were rightly embarrassed by the whole event and refused to repeat the experiment in later years. Someone asked in parliament whether or not medals would be given out for this war—another noted that medals should be given to the emus, who had “won every round so far.”

Mel's actually a US citizen....and you are most welcome to keep him (Together with Rupert Murdoch and Ken (Noah's Ark) Ham, . As Australia is not yet a constitutional republic, I doubt that Paul would put his hand up for the top job....unless he could contest for the billet of Prez of Orstrayia with his mate Strop, ( aka John Cornell) as running partner.
