Woohoo! Magic! hahahaha.

 

We were trying to hike up to the Ipsut (spelling?) campground, but there were too many downed trees. Going to go back when its cleared up and hike to the glacier. It was so pretty! Scored a bunch of camping gear for the holidays and I cant wait to use it. This picture has me climbing over a log (on the right, sitting down). Eventually it was just like a huge pile of fallen trees and we were like...nope. Lol.

Found 2 more ''Fat Wood'' Trees today on land I'm thinking about buying.

 

I thought I posted this already but I'm not seeing it. My two jumbo pekins, Bobby and Snowball. They will be pets, but some day when I have more room I'm totally keeping some to eat. They are already super fat and yummy looking

 

Either of them female? I assume Bobby isn't but that may just be my bias showing.
We had ducks growing up and ate the duck eggs. Very rich but quite tasty. I don't remember how often Daisy laid eggs though (yes, I had a female duck named Daisy and the male was Donald...please just let it go).

 

lol! i ordered a male and female, so im hoping one ends up being male and one female. hoping to get a few eggs for hatching to sell or trade- if nothing else the kids would love hatching out some ducks. i have heard duck eggs are great for baking! we are getting tons of chicken eggs, i need to find people to buy some.

 

do you run the chickens and ducks together? If so, do they get along?

 

You might wind up needing to eat Mr. Duck when he comes of age. You need a FEW female ducks per male duck.

 

Put up a sign, EGGS FOR SALE, folks will come.

 

no they'll be kept separately. i dont trust the big huge ducks with the chickens!

if he has to go its not a big deal, but i was told the pair would be fine as long as i kept the male away from the chickens. we will see! honestly if they start tearing up the yard and being a pain they will both go. they are soooo cute though.

they don't have bands on. ill have to go back and look to see what it was that looked like a band lol.

 

The male will develop a pronounced DUCK Tail as he matures. The Female's tail feathers will stay straight.

 

Anyone know when I could put them outside? Holy cow they are growing fast. When they start to feather maybe? i cant even remember when i put my chicks outside. These ducks definitely aren't ready yet, but i think they will be sooner than later assuming our winter stays this mild. they may be going to live in the mud room soon.
