And then he wastes time stopping off in San whatever it is to meet the victims families while heading off to HI on vacation. That matches neatly with that downright stupid beer meeting early in his reign.

The Col was grievously wounded, in combat. He has worked past that and made something (more) of his life. I'll not speak of the other two - other than note they began life whole, any changes weere entirely of their own choice.

No pity - just recognition of a person who was dealt a hard blow by life and rose above it... /.

I've heard it said, "all I need is a little place in the woods, with a high speed internet connection". Also it was Picasso who quipped "I'd like to live as a poor man with lots of money."

I at times wonder if living in a country with lower standards of living would perhaps be desirable if it wasn't too dirty, no war or terrorist, good internet, decent medical available and a few small conveniences could be a happier place than our often high speed and harried lifestyles. I knew a man twenty years ago who retired to Lower Mexico and lived in a villa in a village near the ocean. Other than having to come back twice a year to show Social Security he was alive and visiting his kids, he said his life was paradise.

It may not be paradise but it's pretty close. One of the lowest crime rates in the world. No property taxes, no taxes on income unless earned in country. Low cost of living. But you have to learn to drive on the left side of the road!!
