Discoveries like those are the main reason I've not jumped on 10 yet. Let the fixes roll ---

I tried it and removed it. I have 7 with a hex core, dual monitors etc. It lost one of the monitors and refused to find it.

    Maybe it was the radiator?

I have a theory. It is a conspiracy! I know of 6 computers all running Windows 8 that have become painfully slow since the release of 10. All the owners of the computers did not up-grade with windows 10. I think Microsoft is slowing the computers to get people to up-grade. Unsure if that is do-able but it really is odd that perfectly working computers are now having issues.

Dual boot , Linux Mint / Windows for the fewer and fewer things that can't be done on Linux.

My plan is to keep 8 until nothing runs anymore. I will get a laptop that I can put up, along with spare charger, solar panel and batteries, so it can be used to access my info hard drives. Most of my stuff is Windows based, so I think I will stick with Windows. Maybe Vista. If I could find an nonpowered hard drive, that would be tops.

We have a laptop running 8.1; no problems here so far/

As seen by the water cooler, I enjoy over clocking. That being said if Micro$loth wants me to be a beta tester; I want paid. Typically M$, it will get better after they fix all the errors.

I "speak" Unix or SGI's version Irix right well. Winblows$ is easy and a lot more is available.

I run my WinDoz in a Virtual Machine on my Mac OSX... as just another Open Window, sure beats Dual Boot.... My WinDox is the. Venerable XP with all the Updates... It has IP Access, behind a pile of FireWalls and Routers, that segment my Network, into Secured Pieces, and Places...

I will admit I use the garbage-soft OS, but only because I am too stubborn to use another image editor besides Adobe PS, and I do like to game occasionally (real graphic intense MMO games). But, I still use the Linux Mint OS on dual boot just because I have learned not to trust the blue screen.

This W10 issue is just one of many to come, I am willing to bet.

Both were uninstalled on a machine I upgraded, with similar reasons being stated. I simply reinstalled the softwares. Both work fine.

Another program, which is by SpyBot Search & Destroy, is called SpyBot Anti-Beacon. View this video as to why you should run it:

Unfortunately when your customers are going to Win 10, I guess building and testing my applications on Win10 would be desired.
But of course, I didn't use the Use express settings during update from Win8.1 to 10.

The upgrade did uninstall a few applications because they weren't supported on this OS. It would have been nice to have known that before the upgrade. effers. But on the plus side, a few of them were Lenovo so it might be a win.

A while back, Windows 10 installed an update and disabled a little utility that I like using, called CPU-Z. It stated the same thing, that it was incompatible. I just reinstalled it and the utility runs fine.

I like the ease of use of Windows 10. However, I don't the fact that it installs updates whenever it wants, basically, or that it is so intrusive. I imagine I could switch my option to "metered", for bandwidth usage, which may give me more control. I just haven't bothered to look at that, yet.

I disable a lot of services that I don't need.
Also ran the SpyBot Anti-Beacon to disable call home features of w10.

Had some issues with Visual Studio but after a reinstall of it and some add-on tools it's GTG
Android studio launches but I'm pretty sure that I'm going to have to address some Java RTM issues.
    R-Studio also launches.

Next few days will determine if I keep w10 on this machine or not.

I did however note that looking at windows update that you can only revert back to win 8.1 within the next 30 days. After that .. It looks like they want you locked in forever.

Yep. I upgraded to 10 back in August. I was running Windows 7 prior to the upgrade. After 30 days, it deletes the folder renamed "windows.old".

I may go back to Windows 7 on one of these machines, and keep 10 on the other. Haven't decided yet.

I know for sure they did that to XP when 7 became available. I'm confident it's standard practice.
