chillax CS. It's not phishing. To be able to display an image it has to have a URL.
If the user doesn't have their own album somewhere on the interweb or URL from some other service like facebook, photobucket.

It's up to the user, they either upload it to SM or link to it from somewhere else.

I guess we could have a central repository off-sm but that would require someone to do some IT grunt work to make it happen. Are you offering to do the leg-work for both the repository and XenForo forum integration on your time?

The quotes do appear to be painted in the same language...but are the quotes genuine?...or mere forgeries?

The question is...were those her actual words...and if so, in what context were they uttered / written? I found plenty of mentions, mainly among conservative, right wing web sites of both the quotes attributed to uncle Adolph and aunty Hillary in the meme, but none of them cite any published sources. The quotes seem to have a certain truthiness Truthiness - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia to them, but if they are not actually the words spoken, or written on record by either of them, then the meme is no more than a contrived piece of propaganda, devoid of any sensible rhetorical value; except to preach to the choir how terrible Hillary is, by using fallacious appeals to emotion and guilt by association.

    1. Yes indeed there are apparent similarities between both of the quotes in the meme. However, as the positive claim in respect of the meme is that Adolph and Hillary actually spoke or wrote those words, then the burden of proof is on you, and others who reference those quotes, to cite the published sources from which their authenticity can be confirmed. It should be simple enough, given the amount of archival matter available on Hitler, and to some lesser extent on Hillary.

    2. I agree with you, regarding the first half of your statement.

The USA as a world power is in a state of some decline, and whether that decline accelerates, or slows, or reverses, depends greatly upon how it is governed and how its resources are conserved, and used, to make The USA's continued existence as a power to be reckoned with, sustainable. That is a huge, unenviable, but absolutely necessary challenge for all Americans of all political affiliations to overcome.

However, I disagree with the second part of your appraisal of the USA's future. Your predictions represent a false dichotomy. Devolving into dictatorships of the far left or the far right kind, are not the only feasible alternatives. The USA can continue along a course of decrepitude by continuing the mediocrity that has lately been the hallmark of both "conservative", and "liberal" legislatures, and presidential / gubernatorial administrations; to the point that the USA is at risk of becoming a client state to those nations that are assuming an ascendency that the USA is, in the foreseeable future, in danger of forfeiting.

    3. And don't put your suggested points of view into my head or mouth that are not of my own creation....therein lays the wobbly way to the straw man fallacy. ;)

It seems a strange argument, endowing Barak Obama with any amount of charisma greater than that enjoyed by a used condom: Particularly when the memes usually posted of Barak at this site, portray him as a witless, incompetent, bumbling fool. The best that I can offer of Obama, is that he is a reasonably effective talking head when delivering scripted speeches (depending on the availability of a functioning teleprompter). As to charisma...he certainly is no FDR, JFK, RFK, MLK or Winston Churchill. Some people may follow him...but only out of idle curiosity, and to discover what they fear he will screw up next.

    4. That is an excellent course of action. The difficulty is that not many in the present day seem to have a common understanding of what that vision was and how it would, or should be achieved. Certainly there are some originalists (like Justice Scalia et al) who believe that they are experts at "channelling" what they believe to be the FF's original intent on Constitutional matters; but the FF's were a product of their age, and could not have envisioned the nation as it presently is, with the social, historical, and technological developments that have brought the USA to this place and time. They created a remarkable document, providing a superb framework which was eminently adaptable, the spirit of which, could be maintained to ensure that the nation would continue to be a democratic republic representational government of the people, by the people and for the people. The pity of it is, that self serving partisan political interests have undermined that vision, and deconstructed some of the elements of the guiding legislative framework (the US Constitution) that the founding fathers' created.

    5. You are of course entitled to your view about Godwin's Law. However, using cherry picked quotations of "alleged" sayings of Adolph and Hillary, serves merely to smear Hillary with the odious character of Adolph, without really getting to the nub of Hillary's suitability as a presidential candidate; based on her actual performance in politics and government administration. Godwin's law is not a law of physics or chemistry or mathematics...it is an acute observation of the human condition expressed in the ways in which internet discussions tend to degenerate once comparisons to Hitler and Nazis, or Stalin and Communists are invoked. Hillary might feel aggrieved that she is being compared to Adolph, but I am quite positive that were Adolph alive today, comparing Hillary to himself would leave him mortified! :)

Comparing Bush to Hitler would also leave Adolph REALLY P!SSED!!!!

    6. I don't think Godwin was referring to the individual use of the Hitler card as overuse, but the frequent resort in general to the Hitler card in online debates as a hackneyed, unproductive debating tactic. Unless you are suggesting that Hillary is advocating, for policies promoting genocide, eugenically directed racial purity, or the US equivalent of lebensraum, then comparing Hillary to Hitler is not significantly relevant.

    7. You have touched upon the heart of the matter. Hillary is not even suggesting that she is like minded with Hitler. Hillary Clinton AND John McCain have both played the Hitler card in respect of Vladimir Putin's interventionist policies concerning the Russian minority in the Ukraine. I should also add that Hillary and John used the Hitler / Putin comparison appropriately in comparing Hitler's occupation of the Sudetenland, Poland and Austria with Putin's justification of materiel, logistical, financial and moral support for ethnic Russians (paramilitaries) in the sovereign territory of the Ukraine. However, even there...though the comparison is valid with regarding the rhetoric and stratagems used by Hitler and Putin: such historical comparisons don't mean that they can both be compared on the same scale of evil. Putin is but a mini-me as far as dictators are concerned.

    8. Your opinion is your own, and you are free to express it as you will. However, having a profound, sincerely held belief in one's own view, does not necessarily make that view true or valid, even though perhaps it may be shared by many like minded people. Putting on a shadow puppet show featuring Hitler and Clinton doesn't in any way contribute to making her opponents look better....particularly if the clowns in that circus are continually being hoist by their own rhetorical petards.

    9. Stopping Hillary at all costs seems a pretty poor investment in time, money and effort. Strengthening the selection, quality and competency of Hillary's presidential competitors stands to benefit America more than merely attacking Hillary. There is little point in shoving one lame duck doofus off the presidential platform if another comparatively lame, or even worse doofus is handed the keys to the Whitehouse and Airforce1. Having strong, competent, competitive candidates that have broad appeal across a wide expanse of the political spectrum, would seem to have more value to the whole of the USA, than the tired, but well funded and connected dunces that invariably seem to get their party's nomination to contend for presidential primaries.

    10. I get this kind of comment reasonably frequently regularly at SM, particularly when I put forth a contentious, unpopular point of view. Just because I reside outside of the bubble occupied by many SM members, does not of itself refute what I have to say. You are free to treat my opinions as moot as far as you and others are concerned, but it does not validate as true what my interlocutor is arguing. It merely serves to unreasonably de-value what I have to say on the subject simply because I am not of their tribe.

With regards to relevance to national interests, many of our (Australian and US) economic, political, diplomatic, trade, and defence interests are inextricably entwined, so, although we are each residents of separate countries, we share a larger bubble among a world of nations than we each occupy singly. The Great depression, The Global financial Crisis, our alliances in several overseas military adventures etc. etc. are ample evidence of that fact. The competency and effectiveness of the US president that leads America is of the utmost interest and relevance to Australians.

Sometimes there is value in considering the opinions of the outsider. The outsider often has a much less emotional investment in issues that seem to be highly emotive to the traditional rhetorical combatants. Just sometimes, looking at the issue from a more novel perspective, than merely singing off the same hymn sheet as everyone else in the bubble, may just open up new vistas of critical thought.

As my concluding comment on the matter...I leave you and the rest of the monkeys here this thought.

Please..... You cannot compare Bush and Hitler... Hitler was way smarter, a good public speaker, and nobody's puppet. Hitler deserved to die for his actions. Bush is just lucky the pretzels didn't get him..

I genuinely appreciate your gesture. We may see our respective worlds from slightly different perspectives...but we are confreres in this barrel of monkeys and you have my utmost personal respect.

I share your sense of frustration at some of our respective elected "representatives", We, in Australia, are fortunate that the present government has recently tossed some of the worst tossers in their ranks out of cabinet, in order that their party might survive the next, fairly imminent election. It would be better if those tossers had not been offered ministry portfolios to screw up in the first place.

We live, and hopefully learn, and get better at the game, rather than blithely believing the blarney that they spruik, even if it is the siren song that they know we would like to hear.

    cheers, in friendship from chello.
