For about 15 years now, I've been tracking this as it developed. Even when people said ten years ago, "Oh Russia doesn't have the military to fight a war with the United States," I reminded them of the warning Gorbachev gave. When I said the U.S. military leadership and the corrupt politicians of the oligarchy will poke the bear continuously until it bites, the first thought that came to mind was, "He's just fearmongering." Well, it's picking up pace, now more than ever. As Putin recently stated, were on a collision course that seemingly cannot be avoided.

The Obama administration is threatening to launch a vast cyber war against Russia in response to the country’s alleged interference with the presidential election. Vice President Joe Biden told NBC News Friday that “we’re sending a message” to Russian President Vladimir Putin and that the wide-ranging “clandestine” cyber operation will take place. “We’re sending a message,” Biden said during an interview with “Meet the Press” that will air on Sunday. “We have the capacity to do it. It will be at the time of our choosing, and under the circumstances that will have the greatest impact,”

At that time, the bear really did NOT have the military to go against US or NATO. I'm far less willing to accept that now, the buildup has been pretty obvious. And their client states have done a lot of testing for them in several hardware areas. Russians have long memories and pokes the bear took in the past are still un-avenged. Methinks continued readiness and improvements are needed. To be frank, we must not lose sight of what China is up to; I think in the long haul they might be the greater danger.
