Taking some of the elbow grease out of raising a car jack to replace tyres. Only works if the drill is sufficiently charged! May not be applicable to some car jack designs. Via: Using a cordless drill to operate a car Jack. - All
Yes, it works. IF it is strong enough. If not, you can strip the clutch (if it has one) or overload the motor.
I have done/do this. Hard part used to be getting a socket mated to the drill. My solution a dozen years ago was taking a socket wrench extension shaft and using an abrasive cut-off wheel (chop saw) to cut the female end off the hardened extension shaft so the remaining square drive shaft could be chucked into the drill chuck. Now I see socket drives to do this in stock at Menards, Sears and on Amazon. Amazon.com: 3" Impact Grade Socket Adapter Set From Ares. and now adays it is dam near impossible to just buy a cordless drill and usually it comes with a cordless impact driver ... That maybe better for ya ... Personally i will not use them cheap jacks unless i am in an absolute bind ... to dangerous..
I once used a straight nose grinder to crank an 11hp Kohler pull start log splitter. Simply put a pulley on the grinder nose and use an old fan belt. No problem getting the belt off, When the engine fires off it would throw the belt across the yard!
