I think the key is to continually pick up an item or two.... much easier on the budget than trying to get a ton of crap right away.... and never, ever put it on credit card. I am a clearance hound as well..... I look for things that are on sale and a good value.... paying full price is silly when you can score deals by being patient and looking around. I struggle with clipping coupons (must be male genetics) but my daughter is a coupon queen and does really well saving on her weekly family food budget by clipping coupons.

You made me laugh agjain. I will bet you if it was a coupon for an axe or a knife or ammo you would clip that coupon. ;) it's all in what interests you I think. I say this because I'm not a coupon person either :)

I saved 55% on my grocery bill today by shopping sales and using coupons. I left my coupon book in the cart and it was gone when I went back. To me that is a huge, huge loss.

Sorry to hear that, Motomom. We picked up our 20lbs of chicken fritters from Zaycon this afternoon. BARELY fit into our small upright freezer with the rest of the chicken breasts from Zaycon, the ground meats(beef and buffalo) from the local butcher shop, and all the stuff from Omaha Steaks. It's really nice to have so much food on hand, that I'm actually complaining about having to eat this stuff just to make room. I remember often as a kid we didn't have enough to eat. In grade school during lunch, I would often have to wait for the other kids to throw away some of their lunches before I could eat.

Finished backup solar this week. The inverter plugs into the covered plugs beneath the panel and every switch and plug into the house is hot. I kill the 220, the frig. and freezer. Have enough watts to run LED lights in every room, grind wheat, and a whole house attic fan in summer and fireplace insert blower in winter. Have to monitor the usage but I think it will work. Got to workout the refrigerator issue.

We really dont use it much. It stores real well . I tried one that was 5 years old and it was still the same . Chicken mixes well with rabbit meat and the Beef goes well with venison. Its a cheap carbohydrate if nothing else we keep it for trade goods.

Knowledge. Visited 9 different states and determined that I don't want to live on the East coast. NH, VT and ME would be the exceptions.Northwest CT may also make the short list.
