I love the idea of aquaponics, hydroponics and tower gardens. I have never figured out how to do hydroponics without veggies being bitter and having to depend on expensive supplements to not be bitter. If anyone has great link for this I would be totally interested!!!! Tower gardens are easy in a 5 gallon bucket with a stake. Tomatoes all year round. Just keep pruning the new leaf growth so that the plant puts all its energy to the blossoms and not just leaves. This serves two purposes, more tomatoes with great flavor and it doesn't get top heavy. You can plant any compatible veggie around the edges of the tomatoes
I love this guy. He thinks ahead and he's funny and he posts his mistakes He also has a great video on inputs for better veggies... K.I.S.S. is why I love this guy!
Today was fun...I was down getting some eggs from my neighbor and asked her if she ever found shopping carts in her back 40....one thing led to another and.... Viola... BUG OUT GARDEN V3.0 - @kellory Edition was born. @Yard Dart @Motomom34 @Gopherman @Brokor @Cruisin Sloth @Ganado

You are so serious =) My is repurposing unused items and you assume he is stealing.... Makes me wonder about you Kells =)
Theft is a slippery slope issue, just like drug use, or loss of your Rights. Stealing, damages who you are, it errodes core beliefs. Which part of "Thall Shalt Not Steal" is unclear to you? Thou shalt not steal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
beer from a canning jar. Love it. You are growing in old beer cartons, never thought of that. Genius. Woman Flees On Shopping Cart After Stealing Groceries From Walmart « CBS Pittsburgh
When we replaced an old toilet many years ago....we put it on the front lawn and grew a giant sunflower out of it....definitely attracted comments from the neighbors and folks slowing down when driving by the house. Friends of the family bring wood junk to burn at our fire pit parties....surprising how an old wall units makes a awful quick "raised bed garden".
You really didn't. did you? I just told my son about your toilet/ sunflower decoration. He asked why. I guess if it holds soil, why not. I once saw an old blue toilet on the side of the road that said, "free planter".
Actually.....I put it out in the back 40 behind my pear trees...I fully expect the deer to get at it....I hope to get some good video! Since Kel whipped out the bible in this thread...I'm also going to introduce some video prayers in here. The soil i used for the cart might be way too high in fert for what I put in it too...it's prolly close to 50% mushroom manure. We'll see... God Willing.
Wish I could claim the idea as my own...but it was my moms. God rest her soul...I certainly miss her this year gardening....we always competed for "biggest tomato"...I never won and this year I'm keen on a crazy breed of vine that my buddy swears by for cherry toms. I have 4 so far aboot 6 inches tall that i'm gonna clone out in some weird redneck bucket cage creation. Sweet Million Cherry Tomato Seeds
I'm keen to see if I can grow one in a 2 liter pop bottle with 2 clothes hangers for trellis. Did you notice the seed price? $5 for 25 seeds...
