@melbo My mother has said many times how STUPID it is that food without certain things costs more. I mean wouldn't it cost more to put more ingredients in, versus just leaving them out?

 

Update on chicks: One of the Rhode Island Reds isn't doing too well. Can tell by looking at them all, she's quite a bit younger, hope she wasn't too young. I'm kind of hand nursing her, and praying she makes it through. Right now she's in my nightgown breast pocket, she's small enough to fit there. She wasn't under the heat lamp and felt a little cold when I checked on her a few minutes ago. Will give her water with dissolved chick feed in a few, if she warms up enough.

 

Chick died around 11 last night, will get a replacement Friday. Wouldn't have happened if I didn't have to run to the bathroom at the feed store and didn't get back before mom picked out the chicks.

 

Added 4 bottles of 500 ct, 500 mg Acetaminophen to the stash. I try to avoid Ibuprofen or Naproxene because they trigger my asthma, but the Acetaminophen doesn't bother me.

 

After this weekend we have, according to our current usage, 8 month supply of Cocola (it was on sale). For those of you that may think this non related to my survival PSHF, I would suggest that you've never had to deal with my wife when she has no morning Coke

Just finished building this in the garage. Still need to pick up the plumbing for it but I'll get that tomorrow and get it filled up with water. They had coconut syrup in them, garage smells like a pina colada now. That'll add another 140+ gallons of water to the stash.

 

Put up 3 more full length pork loins- 1 1/2 into chops and the rest of it cut down into two person sized roasts. Also picked up 4 butts for sausage.

 

Got a nice Wetterling axe for about 30 percent of retail. Great canoe axe.

 

This isn't long term but I make Kim chi and fermented carrots every couple of weeks. Made my own fermenting jars using ball jars and brewing airlock really cheap. Fermented vegetables are a great way to get b12 if fish and meat are I short supply.
The airlock don't show up well against the white back ground.
