Iguana is not too bad... Just don't tackle them with a k-Bar... don't ask but it wasn't me...:D

There was this roving band of dogs. Mostly pits. That would lurk waiting for the iguanas to slip and slide off the terracotta roofs. Wasn't anything left in seconds when it happened.

Bushcraft isn't quite as easy in Northern Canada but these posts/tips are awesome. I look forward to trying them!

Our group alternates between camping in SE Georgia and at the Ocala Nat Forest each year. I've been hanging for years. I use a Jungle hammock with a sewn-in bug net with a full length zipper. Four years ago in the OCN I did not use my netting on the last night (beautiful moon & stars) but got home with 34 ticks, many imbedded. One nite, off the ground yet!!

I get ticks on me all the time out there. I usually get them off before they dig in. My dog, on the other hand, has a thick undercoat and we hike all the time. PIA going over him every time. He likes the grooming and attention though.

Now the chiggers... they are nuclear out there. I've got chigger bites on me almost year round. They can be maddening.

I eat a clove of garlic every day (well almost).

    Tics hate me.

Also, I am not complaining about that. (y)

I saw an episode of Dude, You're Screwed, where Matt Graham was in Costa Rica, I think. He was tired and hungry and slept on the ground. Got massive tick bites, including, as he described, a lot of them bit his johnson. Yikes!

Have palmetto, will survive. You can make everything you need from a patch of those.

Pretty much. I prefer the Sabal palm. No thorns on the stem.

Thanks everyone for the input and comments.

I won't mention names but a good friend flew down from up north to attend one of our Pot and Machetes. He did great. He fell out of his canoe harvesting bamboo and ripped a huge hole in his cargo pants crotch. Right at the beginning. Thank the Lord he wasn't going commando.

We drove to Ocala for a BO weekend many yrs ago and it turned cold--learned better than to think Fla stayed warm-lol. We are having a BO gathering on our farm 8-10 May-next weekend. Lots of primitive skills demos and plenty of range time. Come join and share.

Bake Off. They get together, and bake cakes in the wild, even have judges for best flavors and presentation, all made from what they find in place.
It's like Survivor: VS: Cut Throat Kitchen, since They also have to defend their creations from each other, until the judges have ruled. It can get pretty rough, but a lot of fun. You should come, and test your skills....[sarc1][LMAO]
(Or...he could have meant Bug Out weekend, kinda like camping);)

Will the BO be held at the BOL? Should I bring my BOV? Mercy, what should I pack in my BOB? And if it's really fun maybe bring the INCH bag?
