The meme is a bit dated.....the PM who is an unmarried atheist woman has been replaced by a conservative, opposite sex married, theist douchebag known as the "Mad Monk".

Naw, that's just her reaction to realizing as a producer that she would be one of the tiny minority that pays to support the moochers in a Progressive country. Most Americans (public education for you...) don't realize that the once manly Australia has been nearly neutered through progressive policies.

There is also seems to a certain amount of disbelief that Australians don't seem to see the correlation between an increasing rate of violent crime such as rape and gun control policies that ensure victims are unable to defend themselves.

The other stuff consists mostly of things liberals think they know about conservative values but sadly cling to in their ignorance.

Chell - Besides these "who fucking cares" issues, what exactly has Australia contributed to the world other than a great Aussie SAS? Still wondering why anything relating to Australia is actually relevant? If Australia didn't exist, would it really make a difference? I don't think anyone would notice.

I have been saying the same thing around here. Dust off some of those 35 yr old war plans, load up every B52 to the max cap and let Operations Rolling Thunder II and Linebacker III commence..

I think a little bit of American Exceptionalism is showing in your post, Clyde ;)

The Australian SAS, although comprising superlative soldiers, is probably one of Australia's lesser important contributions to humanity...

Although the things invented and created by Australians would most likely have been invented by peoples of other nations eventually, it has to be said though, that there are significant contributions to science and technology that the rest of the world has benefited from, sooner, rather than later, because of Australian ingenuity and inventiveness. For a relatively small population, Australia has punched well above its weight in the field of science and technology, and you Clyde, and other Americans have benefited profoundly by what Australians have contributed to the world: that is if you (and your fellow citizens) only knew, or cared to find out about them. :p

Next time you boot up your WIFI....think, Thank God for Australia!!! The USA may have trademarked the name WIFI, but Australians invented and patented it.

Wi-Fi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are times that I wished that Australia didn't exist as far as the USA is concerned; particularly when US Presidents are looking for suckers to join them in US foreign policy black holes, by requesting contributions to silly coalitions of the willing, to get rid of despots that the USA helped create and support in the first place.

Much more to Hedy Lamarr than meets the eye - I had no idea she did anything other than act.

OMG....Heddy was an Austrian....not an Australian! :ROFLMAO:

Different continents. Though, we'd be happy to own Heddy as one of our own. ;)

My sentiment concerning American exceptionalism still stands. :D

Edit: Yes, Heddy Lamarr's contribution to frequency hopping, in torpedo guidance systems has also contributed to some aspects of WIFI technology, as has, arguably, contributions by inventors, scientists and engineers over centuries. History of Electricity History of electronic engineering - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. None the less, the credited inventor of WIFI is [IMG] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_O%27Sullivan_%28engineer%29

It ought be noted that the value of Heddy Lamarr's inventiveness was wasted by the United States during WWII.
It is seems that the essence of Luke 4:24, Mathew 13:57, and John 4:44 apply to women inventors too...Heddy was advised to stick to selling war bonds...leave the science to men.

Belatedly, Heddy and George were recognised for their contributions to science and technology in 2014, almost 70 years after Heddy and George patented their invention.

It should be noted that the naval guided torpedo owes it's invention to an Irish -Australian, Louis Brennan, who provided the analogue guidance system to make remotely fired torpedoes tactically feasible.
