    @ditch witch I would recommend that is you use that Hive stand you place some caps or blocks under the legs of the hive stand and place pie pan under those. Then foil the pans with a diesel and water mix. This will keep ants and other critters from climbing into your hive. I suggest this because we have lost a hive to fire ants.... this keeps them out and the hive safe.
