Replaced some more CFL bulbs with LEDs. Ceiling fans have gone from 100 watts using standard bulbs to 16 watts and better light. I have 10 ceilings fans so have dropped from 1,000 watts total to 160. Not cheap but necessary for my 500 watt solar array.

Also wind shield wipers are on sale, stocked up for all vehicles. Winter beats the crap out of them.

Knocked a project off the Honey-Do list today. We have a small house so I've been getting creative as far as finding storage space for our preps. I took a small broom closet with three almost useless shelves and turned in into a pantry closet with five useful full length shelves.

We're keeping the original door and I knocked out the side wall to get full access to the inside of the closet. All that's left for me to do now is hang the bi-fold doors (and re install the smoke detector)
Top shelf is half depth so we can use the full height of the pantry.
Two open sides = less digging. [coo]

    @NotSoSneaky love that shelf!

I replaced my ailing F150 (bad engine) with a Toyota Tundra last week.
4x4 crew max w/ towing package, level kit installed, and a moon roof (not that it's survival option, but it is nice).
I can tow a bit more with this truck than with my F150, but the trade off is lower gas mileage.
now to wire in my aux rev. lights, re-wire the 12v power outlets to be hot all the time and wire in my inverter and a 12 jack in the bed of the truck.

Not much this week, but I got a little snow shovel for the winter months. I lived in Houston for roughly fifty years. Never thought I would ever need one of those. LOL

That does highlight the fact that I am having to learn to shift emphasis on my preps now. Living on the Gulf coast, my preps used to be geared toward electrical outages and hurricane related issues. Now in the Tulsa area, I have to look at cold weather problems. It's a whole new way of looking at things. [eek3]

Not sure why, but the first part of my message keeps getting chopped off. Going to try here with a separate post....

Got a kitchen compost bucket and extra filters.

    Now, does it post?

Know the feeling. Just the reverse for me.Having lived all my life in cold weather country, I'm having to adapt to "Southern Exposure". The wife is a native southerner so its made it easier on me-I think;)

Lately its been stuff related to firearms.ALWAYS an easy choice for me so I've actually stayed away from this area for awhile. But I've been adding to stocks as of late. Found several deals on receiver flats that I've had kits waiting on for a long time, so I bought a couple dozen of those along with the tooling to form them. The one thing I can't find is IMBEL receivers for the rest of my FN-FAL kits. I have to admit that I haven't kept current with certain things, and while I know the Imbel's aren't imported any longer I didn't realize they were THAT hard to find,or THAT pricey when you do..:( Found a .308 conversion for one of my Deutsch toys as 8mm is getting too unrealistic to keep burning through-for me at least. With the Corbin stuff we ordered I'll be able to shift everything over to 7.62 for day to day use,at least that's the current plan;) It has been "suggested" that after next weekend's gun show I'd be wise to leave the bullet part of "Bullets, beans and bandages" alone for awhile or I may be needing more of the bandages..

Picked up a pull-behind garden tiller (pull it behind an atv or lawn tractor). Engine was shot so I got it for a good price. The guy I got it from said it wouldn't start and he'd used it for years. Checked a few things then did the deal. Got it home, and got it running in about 10 min. Yeah, it would run and you could fumigate the neighbor hood too. Drained what little oil was in the crank case, looked like it was never changed, so thinking rings are shot.
So another $60.00 in parts (rings and gaskets/seals) and the engine runs like it's a day old. This was my first rebuild on an engine, so I was happy that it started running on the 3rd pull after getting it back together.
Added a tool to get food plots setup on my property to bring in the deer (hopefully :) ) and a skill set, rebuilding a small engine.

    [chopper] @kckndrgn!!

Major congrats on your score AND on having the courage to tackle a new skill set!! IMHO, while I don't know what flavor the engine is, you made a great choice for your first project into this area. As a rule small engines are pretty easy to work on but many seem to be scared to try. WALKIN THE WALK I like that!!:)

@Tully Mars , it was a simple B&S OHV, single cylinder. I will admit when re-assembling it there were times I was like "did I forget something?", but so far, no extra pieces laying around :)

Tuesday we got our 40lbs of boneless skinless chicken breasts from Zaycon. I will never buy storebought chicken again if I can help it. The Zaycon chicken is FRESH. Not only does it smell(not in a bad way, it's the fresh meat smell), but it's pinker and bigger than storebought chicken. And it makes my fried chicken better. The coating(it's breaded not battered) would always come off when I would turn the storebought chicken pieces over, and didn't have that problem with Zaycon. And it seemed to cook faster. So in review, Zaycon chicken makes storebought chicken look like pansies...

I have been buying from Zaycon for two years; ground beef, chicken and the best bacon in the world. I can a lot of it. Yes, the bacon too. You cannot buy fresher, healthier or cheaper. Didn't like the sausage links.
