Wasn't sure where to put this but it's an interesting article EPA's Wood-Burning Stove Ban Has Chilling Consequences For Many Rural People - Forbes
I thought it seemed sort of "deja vu" familiar...then I noticed the article was from a year ago. Still good info.
Anything to make us more dependent on propane, heating oil, natural gas and electricity. Note, all of those energy sources are taxed....
Wood stove heat is our main source of heat. Have a heat pump and furnace, but don't use them because of the cost. We have enough wood on the property to do this for years so I don't care what .goob thinks about it and will not follow their regulations. This and vehicle emissions are a total joke since every summer we have wildfires and the Rogue Valley looks worse then LA on their worst day for days to weeks.
I think I will put up nudist colony signs as well warning that clothed trespassers will be forced to strip, their clothes will be burned, and their valuables will be promptly turned over to the local sheriff's office when a trespassing report is filed for prosecution. Trespassers will not be detained any longer than it takes to strip, be photographed and be escorted to nearest property line by shortest direct line. . Any lawyers want to speak up about this plan.
I doubt you will be covered since most of what you want to do involves kidnapping and assault in most states.
Umm, Yeah, as a matter of fact I'm headed over right now to start cutting up my stove.. I think I heard rumblings about this awhile back. If the power company can't cut your power during winter if electricity is your only heat source, how is the EPA gonna pull this off? We have a wood burner here that we use whenever. Just because its not the main heat source or brand new doesn't mean that its going anywhere. The E.P.A. can kiss my A.S.S.
I would expect a "grandfather clause" preventing any NEW sales of older designs. Personally, I wish they would just stick their heads back in the sand...and inhale.
My central wood burning furnace is 20 years old and I used my bonus a year ago to buy a new one, still new in the box on the skid with this guy as a standby..
Seems to me, I remember a monkey building them. Nice work too, complete with water jackets. One even had bar stools built in.
Ditto. Ol' smokies are heating the abode right now. Both of 'em and I've got two more in reserve if need be. Hey, I'm carbon neutral! leave me alone.
I liked burning Ash or Cypress in mine way back when. Ash burns completely down to nothing, Cypress smells good but pop's. Wonder is a skillet of lead on top would melt down?
I doubt it ... My barrel stove kit just came in the mail today... {i only bought it for the door.... Is ther pics of this stove with bar stools somewere ?
