A ton and a half? What caliber? Might trade for some after I do the lake salvage job.

Yes Sir, 1 1/2 tons 'o brass. Its mixed 7.62, 5.56. Which means there will be a certain amount of blank mixed in as well-always is. I usually get a small amount of pistol cal, links, blanks, even .50 brass/blanks in the lots. I've bid on a couple lots of pistol brass as well but I'll have to wait n see on those. Like I mentioned in a different thread this am, we are trying to "invest" in items that will hold/increase in value in the future. Brass is a no-brainer to me. I figure all of mine will be free by the time I sell/barter off the rest-that's the plan anyways;)

Fourty gallons of gas at less than $2.00 gal. Two 20lbs propane tanks have been filled. Replacement shop-vac, several hand tools from harbor freight (free coupons) and a few %20 off.
BOV is topped off full, water barrels have been drained to be put away for the winter. One carbon monoxide detector.

Nice haul, Gator. Bet those lamps clean up real nice. Nice to have spare parts for the razor, too.

BTW, the Harding coin looks like it may be a Franklin Mint piece from the late 60s/early 70s... value? Maybe a couple dollars. The Morgan tokens typically have deeper relief and smoother transitions of the bust...

Were the rest of the lamps in as good a condition? I have one now. Might be interested in a couple more.

Actually, Yes I walked away from the others, Just left them sitting, I have learned that BIL is scared of the place, 2 sisters will not enter.. Unless I'm in the lead, I saw multitudes of prepper items in this old house, Untouched since 2000, There are also rumors of a few gold nuggets hidden inside, I'm more interested in the self sufficient items, We did recover a little change today, Face value so far, Perhaps 20 bucks

Might try a good metal detector. A neighbor has one that is selective. It is suppose to be adjustable to what types of metal are detected. Doesn't block them from registering, but alerts better on those metals.

Funny that you speak of a metal detector, I have a Garrett.
Once I put 25 penny's in an old flower bed I wanted dug up, When my kids showed up later I told them that the previous owner thought she had lost a nice ring in the bed. I gave them my detector, About an hour later and a couple of cold drinks the flower bed looked like a herd of hogs had passed.
I've never told them that story, I'm sure they would enjoy it!

Not much really. Like Kellory, mo gas/diesel. Hit the dollar store/dollar general both local and online. Ordered some cases of rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, neosporin, quik clot dressings and sponges. Picked up a dozen EMT shears as well.

Hey Monkeys. Been gone a while. Posted last year that I had bought a new home outside of Tulsa. At the time I was still holding down the day job in Houston while my better half moved into the OK home. I was working on a major project at work, and didn't want to leave them in the lurch, so stayed on until it was completed. Turned in my notice just before Thanksgiving and stayed to complete the project and do some "knowledge base offloading". That got me out after the first week of December. Since then, we've gotten moved into a new home with an acre of land and got my parents moved in with us. Dad's health isn't good, and we want to do what we can to help out while he's still with us. ITMT, that all leads up to the "What I've Put Away" part of the discussion. :)

    1. New house & property.
    2. Stabbed a few Pawpaw trees and Cornelian Cherry trees in the dirt while they are dormant. Also some Honey Berry, Goji Berry, Sea Berry, Issai cold hardy Kiwis.
    3. Rooting hormone (going to try my hand at getting some cuttings to grow).
    4. All sort of seeds and bulbs for the garden.
    5. Speaking of the garden, since I don't know what the previous owner did as far as chemicals, I decided to add a good garden mix to it. Now, that's a pretty good sized garden (at least for someone who's never gardened much) so I ran the calcs and ended up getting a dump truck full of high quality garden mix (12 cu yds) and got about half of it shoveled before this latest cold snap hit. Hope to get the rest of it out there next week.
    6. Recently got 100 seeding pots and will begin germination of spring seeds next week.
    7. And just got the compost tumbler I ordered. I know it's probably too cold to do much composting right now, but it's ready to go.

New home, new life. Whew. This is frightening, and exhilarating at the same time.

Just started a new batch of venison jerky, with the newly arrived slicer and the new dehydrator. Feels like about #20 of meat, maybe a bit more. Marinating now, and will be started drying tomorrow.:)

Paid off the credit cards a while back and recently received an offer on a rewards card paying cash back on all purchases.
Now we're not spending willy-nilly with this account but by using it ONLY for the things we'd typically use FRN's for, combined with the MRS's couponing skillz and sale finding ability it allows us to save a little bit more each month. When you take a look at the monthly budget things add up fast ! I consider it "using the system against itself for personal gain".

We pay the balance off every week and let the "rewards" pile up until we redeem them (choice of several ways).

Of course I still trade worthless FRN's for any purchase I don't want tracked and I don't do business at any shops asking for personal information.

LED bulbs are coming down in price picked up some 60 watt equivalent 800 lumen’s 8.2 watt 18,000 hour life LED bulbs for $3.99.

Not the same measure of saving like going from incandescent to CFL's but they have a softer purer light over CFL's so I have been spot replacing CFL bulbs at the work bench.
