That's EXACTLY the maneuver with ESPECIALLY a lock jaw breed.
You aint unlocking the jaws with your hands....break the legs...it'll let go when it can't tug and leverage.
Other than that your only options are to go for the eyes.

they went for the innards. they get in the coop and kill everything moving. Or if they can't get in they'll pull what ever portion of the chicken, duck, rabbit through the fence and eat it alive.

That's often what coons do to birds....cats....whatever...they rip out their guts and leave most of 'em to rot.
Maybe eat the head....that's what they did to my moms ducks years ago.

Yep, foxes will get into a killing frenzy as well. And yes, coons climb...too.

 

oh and momma coon with babies .. you corner them, and momma can't get babies to safety .. you are going to have to kill momma as she's not stopping until you either get the hell out of here way and the babies are safe. Best to have a shotgun and lots of shells. Momma and 5 babies require a lot of holes.

 

Oh BTW, make sure you shoot momma coon first. The babies are easier after that.

 

We actually have a BIG FAT coon hanging around lately....darn near got my cat in the mud room cuz we generally never shut the door....my own fault...I put out more food than the cat would eat...(lazy) and it came in after the kibble beside the cat bed....dumb cat just hissed and made a fuss....lucky i was awake or i'd be -1 cat.

 

that wouldn't happen for 2 reasons. one i don't go to bars to pay 3 times the price for drinks when i like drinking alone. 2 i am very skilled in the arts of self defense and know lots of boxing judo muay thai and wrestling. i have seen 13 year old kids knock out full grown men anybody can knock out anybody that is fact the temple requires a relatively tiny bit of pressure applied to it to render somebody unconscious. I've trained extensively in defense and know how to properly defend myself so no i don't think a drunk old man could put hands on me

 

Yep, I got jumped by a pack.of five coons when I took the trash out to the dumpster one night. I had an ax handle in case of two legged trouble. I killed four by besting them to death as they tried to eat me. It was touch and go for a while, and I broke my ash ax handle in the process. The fifth one had enough sense to flee.
