Aloha Monkeys, Had two buddies that wanted these... 6al-4v titanium... and yes it is a pita to forge... But pretty light and strong... @Hanzo and others here could probably take on a pretty large trail "beast" with a pair of these and still pass through an airport security check Fugly tough like all the "Bear Tools"... lot's of uses including eating out with @Hanzo .... Pics on the anvil after forging with titanium scale.... and after a wire wheel clean up of the scale with a piece of the titanium I start with... Next to the grinder to clean up the ends and smooth it a bit for eating... then back to forge for any touch ups and these will be off to their new homes and the wild trails... I'll take a couple more pics when they are done... Something different I though you might enjoy... Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas! God Bless and Take Care, Bear
I like that they are roughly done. More character and it will probably hold food better. Smooth stainless ones are slippery.
Are they all spoken for, I wouldn't mind having a set myself. we have very good Chinese food locally.
Hanzo u need to get a titanium spoon for the little one you cant eat ice cream with chop sticks! I dont think
All done... new owners wanted the tips smoothed out so it wouldn't bang up their lips and teeth... smoothed the tips and the butt down to 400grit and gave the whole thing a once over to 400.... I think they came out just about right for my standards... Bear fugly and tough... but still loveable and usable Let me know what you think... and yes I know... "who needs a pair of titanium chopstics? when you can just whittle your own... and toss it" well... not sure... but I know a few folks who love theirs and not just for eating... probably work for knitting too Hope everyone is having a great weekend! God Bless and Take Care, Bear
Wood has been used for centuries though. No need to sterilize. Chinese restaurants don't even wash them. [emoji33]
LOL @Hanzo Some folks have a habit of biting down on the sticks and keeping their lips around them hold the food while they pull them out... I've actually known a couple folks who got splinters because of that...
@kellory sorry buddy not ignoring you... just needed to check to see if I had more titanium... and yes I do... let me know... I've got a pair of Snow Peak titanium tipped chopsticks... wood handles and the titanium tips screw in... very compact and slender... These are no way like those... these are Godzilla/King Kong version Thanks for the interest...
