I arrived home to a package in my NC mailbox today... and I can truly say bear takes no half steps... I almost needed my sweet Mountain Monkey #4 to cut through the packaging... This is the second Bear Blade I have received... The first went to my youngest son with the 10th Special Forces ... This one is going to stay by my side... a well made razor sharp utilitarian blade with handle to make most knife owners to drool... I can't say enough but Thanks @Bear for another usable work of art...

Same here, the gifted blade was presented during a break in a work session this day. It took him a moment to understand what I was handing him and why. I think my phrase, "Now remember put this with your preps and use it to keep the family safe and and warm if needed." pounded home what I considered this blade to be.

It is a great day and tomorrow will be better.

    Thanks @Bear.

Thanks for all the really nice words... it's the very best compliment to know that your tools seem good enough to receive and give as using tools to friends and family...

@Hanzo had a chance to actually hold and criticize the handles on these new limited editions today... I wanted to make sure that even though they seem like simple straight handles... that the slight taper felt comfortable and secure in the hand... I think they passed the test but I'll let him speak for himself... (no payment was made and @Hanzo is not affiliated or related to any of my tools ;) )

You all are the best!... I shall keep trying my best and I promise that will continue to get better...

    I appreciate you all!

    Take Care and God Bless,

    Bear

The handle were all really nice. Both the koa as well as the bamboo.

I like the larger handles better personally. As you guys say, @Bear isn't just a craftsman, but an artisan as well. My only critique it that the handles were polished too nicely. They are smoothly finished and I would suggest some waxing to improve grip and reduce possible slippage.

My disclaimers are the one, my skin is dry this time of year, so really dry hands on beautifully polished wood will feel slippery. Second, I am not affiliated to Bear blades except as an admirer AND user. And finally, I bought lunch today, so food bribes do not factor into my saying they are really sweet.

Two of my Bear knives. I use them and people see them and then they want their own. That is the natural order of things.

I have two or three or so of them.... and they are the best!!! I have one under my bed (machete) , one in my rig (bowie) and another on my bail-out-bag ;)
They are equally useful in what I need them for. :)

Wow @Hanzo that little antler blade brings back memories ;)
Thanks for the trip down memory lane bruddah...

Well both middle blades in post #195 are now spoken for ... #1 & #2 of 2 of that style are taken....

Only #2 of 2 of the 3rd from the top is still available....

Last of these longer machete blades I will be making for the foreseeable future... want to finish up and work on other projects waiting and brewing ;)

Thanks everyone for the kind words and the support of this crazy old fart's hobby time...

Have a great Saturday evening all!

    Bear

The little blade is handy and kept razor sharp. I did take the coating off though. Like it better without the coating, but with a forced patina to protect the carbon steel.

Delivered these for @Bear today. Pardon the in the front seat of my truck pictures. It was raining and I am not the ultimate owner of the knives and sheathes, so didn't want to put em out in the rain.

@Bear's blades are great. I felt like cutting and chopping up stuff before turning them over.
