We'll pick up some more canned goods and miscellaneous stuff tomorrow. But the big new is that we're making progress paying down our debt. We should have only our home loan, truck payment and and regular monthly utility bills by Spring.

 

Sam's trip yesterday. Ended up freezing 4 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs and 4 one pound packages of skirt steak for fajitas using vacuum sealer. That was the easy part. Next came 14 pints of boneless skinless thighs in the All American. Quite a bit of work, but but meat prices, especially beef, are going totally nuts here. Hamburger for $4.59/lb?? For ground CHUCK! You gotta be kidding me!

Purchased 6 food grade five gallon buckets with gamma seal lids from baytec out of texas. Should be here by tuesday next week

 

Got a small doe during muzzle loader season, so put a few roasts and ground venison in the freezer. The wife is starting the venison jerky, can't wait for it to be done!

30#s BACON. Well around here that ain't long term prep past a month.

 

7 lbs grass fed calf liver sliced and put in freezer to vacuum seal tomorrow. Got 1/2 a grass fed calf coming later this month and this was the first thing ready...rest is hanging 14 days. Got new 9 cu ft freezer to help store it....got it Saturday. Since it's mostly just Sweetie and I, this should last us a couple of years after vacuum sealing it.

Just ordered some handgun ammo from Target Sports. On the first I'll order some more 5.56 rifle ammo. I have to space purchases out due to budget constraints and we'll also be buying a couple of cords of firewood at that time. That should see us set for Winter.

After the water stopped pumping yesterday and I replaced a fuse and the start capaciator circuit I resupplied with another start unit, more fuses, and a pressure switch.

Cause of breakdown was a direct hit to the power line. I surmise the pump was running at the time!

No further damage and spare parts back on the shelf.
