I am a new member from the South Eastern United States. I'm not an extreme prepper however I am very cautious, and begining to start focusing on the safety, security, etc again of my family. I'm sure many would call me paranoid (well maybe not people from here) however on here yall can call me John Kelly. I look forward to discussing prep plans, technology, etc etc etc. I use a bootable version of TOR to access this site as well as much of my other prepping websites, plans etc so I may not always respond quickly. I look forward to it! Stay safe ya'll. John Kelly
Welcome to the Monkey John!!! Being cautious/paranoid is not an issue.... but being unprepared is.... There is much knowledge here to help you along the way. Looking forward to your contributions as well!! YD
You're not paranoid, you have realized there is more to being prepared than prepping. Welcome here, John!!
Thanks ya'll. Yeah I have an emergency services backgroud, where its not all about just the equipment, there is pre-planning, security, intelligence, etc etc etc. Glad to finally find a place where its not all just people jumping on the bandwagon of reality tv shows etc. Some of those things are wonderful, nice (would love to have and am possibly going to build a small covert storage area under my backyard shed) however I also want to look at all aspects of prepping and want to do it in a secure way, which I think I may have finally found thre right place to do that.
Missed you earlier but welcome to the monkey. I look forward to your input, especially with your background. Your shed project will be interesting. Are you going to tunnel under it? Walls? Floor? Concrete? Lots of questions on the shed idea.
Welcome aboard. Not sure how TOR would slow down your response time but whatever. You also shouldnt think it will keep you anon.... It was developed by the Navy and DARPA dude....you think they can't skin your onion? Just say'n.
TOR has already been compromised, frankly I don't think any of us are important enough to worry about it.
Welcome! Just because you think their out to get you, doesn't mean their not! Great site lots of cool stuff! Getting prepared is almost fun and a good family activity.
Tor itself is not slowing it down, its the fact that I don't always have access to the computer I run tor on. and good point... but anyway - for the shed project - I have a 10x10 shed in my back yard it sits about 1.5 feet above the ground.... thinking of making a panel in the floor, and in the void space underneath digging out some extra storage space, shoring it up/make a room, waterproof it etc. accessed all through the shed.
Welcome to the tree. Much to learn here and I am sure you have much to share. Just to let you in on a little secret, there is no difference between being paranoid and constant vigilance. As in "The price of liberty is eternal vigilance." "
Welcome to the Survival forum with vastly knowledgeable kind-civil preppers. Great helpful folks. Be sure to stay up-to-date with TAILS-TOR.... now on over 1.2. Welcome here. Being prudent and prepared is common sense; a thing sadly lacking in most of society today.
Whew! At least you didn't tell him "Insane folks and a good amount of knowledge.."! We'll let him find that out on his own.
