Solar and Wind Power More Expensive Than Thought

Me too.

 

Proof positive, we are not sheeple.

 

I like what I do and even work for myself but if I won a few million I'm quite sure I would just work on my tan. The thing about solar for me is I can't see how I could ever run my whole house off of it. We are power hogs.

 

I could see solar, wind and batteries. But I know it is not cost effecrive.

I also suspect that in a SHTF world the solar would be a BIG SIGN that Says "come and get it".

That doesn't mean that I don't have back up plans just that I'm not into advertising.

A very nice 12 Vdc 2 way and long wire is secure from all but a A BOMB.

 

I would see the world, have fun and eat well, but tanning would bore me to tears. I must do.

 

Bud has been totally self reliant for a dozen years. They have a very nice home that is well insulated. They are about to retire so last year they put in a Generac Propane power plant to accent their small diesel generator. A bud and I are thinking about building a trailer mounted system that is BO capable.

 

Generac Propane are poor real time units(3600 rpm screamers ) . I have a few . They work only when needed for certain jobs & came near free. (I either Fix it or Fvck it ) Propane is the best storage fuel , diesel next , gas with additives (real gas 100/110 oct AV fuel with additive , Don't store corn water / hellhole additive as filler & rust out you containers . Store underground or in semi hidden cool out of sun & weather. Propane out of site works wonders . SOLAR is so known , ya got power , yur beard is neat & trimed , yur clean and smellin good !!

I'm not interested that much in going totally off the grid myself, so to speak. All I'd really want to be able to have power for in a SHTF scenario is the laptop(for gaming and watching DVDs), my MP3 player, and maybe our 2burner hot plate thing. All other needs we can manage without electricity. Might not be convienent, but oh well. Though what would I do if I couldn't go to Facebook? I'd miss out on people telling everyone else why they're right and we're all wrong...
