After my morning class, joined some of the ladies for lunch. Martina graciously offered to take the picture so I could be in it. But I convinced her it would be a better picture with her than with me in it. I am sure @Bear is appreciative. My lunch was a Vietnamese meatball Banh Mi sandwich with a small salad and a large mint water.
I guess it is made by muddling mint and infusing water with it, with a touch of sweetener. Over ice, it was very refreshing on a hot day. And it's been hot. Off to teach my qigong and sword class now.
After tai chi dinner. Man the combo was huge!! Miso ramen, chicken katsu curry and gyoza. I barely ate it all. Great value for under ten bucks.
Had a late lunch with a dragon and a tiki. Thai fried chicken wings And of course, dessert. @Bear wouldn't forgive me if I didn't get dessert. Mango and sweet sticky rice. Since it's late in the day, washed it down with a cranberry grape energy drink one of our friends at the Y gave us.
After my personal qigong and taiji training today, had a business meeting. Omakase baby! @Bear, this place has stuff not found anywhere else in Hawaii (just Japan). More diverse selection than Akasaka. Started with live baby abalone. Had all kinds of sushi, prepared one at a time and each one explained, including how to eat it. Didn't take pictures of each one. Just ate em all. Blurry lamb can be found at a sushi bar too. More sushi! More have had 15-20 different ones. Towards the end, we had langostino miso soup after eating the tail. Full but not over the top. Very excellent. Gotta thank my buddy, Leigh, for introducing this place to me.
@Bear, wanna try this place? Really good and different. With the amount we eat, I'm guesstimating about 300 dooooollllllllaaaarrrrs.
@Hanzo LOL... I'm game... got time next week?... but maybe we should think about where to find a place to exchange our bananas for doooooolllllllllaaaaaaaarrrrrrrssssssss......
@Bear, dunno about you, but I'm keeping my banana! Looks like Friday, the 25th is the first good day for me. Let me know if that works for you. My turn to treat.
@Hanzo LOL... good for you! Sounds good... should have something pointy ready by then ha ha... we can "barter" simian style... pointy thing for lunch
"Dragon whips his tail" Was a hot and muggy day so we stopped after about an hour and finished off just talking and taking advantage of a photo op. They chose the pose and lined themselves up as they saw fit. I just tried to snap a picture. Since it was so oppressive today, had to cool off with refreshing watermelon juice. And have a light lunch. But the French fries here are awesome, so...
