    Before I cut the foam, I am trying to figure out what else I could put in this "Urban BoB/Get Home Kit".

    So far;
    An 9mm UZI and a CZ-82 w/ extra mags. Though both require different ammo, this is a short-term solution as a larger, more inclusive BoB is available to me.

    In the lid, an Al Mar folding knife, a Cold Steel tanto fixed blade knife and a multi-tool.

    A "burner" phone, binoculars, flashlight, paracord, trauma pack, work gloves and of course, the US Constitution - never leave home without it!

    Not pictured are a freeze-dried meal, flask w/ water and an envelope of cash.

    I used to carry the UZI (with the barrel removed as you did) in a plain-jane bookbag backpack. I would have gotten one in paisley, but I think a guy carrying that around would be quite conspicuous. The UZI's excell in that area, as does the FN PS90's.

    Cudos on the CZ. What caliber is it- .32 or .380?

    Thanx for the info on the FN PS90. I will look into them more.

    The CZ is in 9mm Makarov; 9 x 18mm. I bought them from one of my distributors a few months ago and found them to be very reliable, accurate and simple to strip. The prices were decent, but I think they may go up if we get another surplus shipment as they have become popular. CZ is back-ordered on a number of their handguns because they were filling govt. orders for Europe. Once they get them, I'm hopeful we'll see more CZ-82 and maybe the 83's AND the new CZ-75 variants.

    The FN PS90's are a lot lighter than the UZI, the fifty round magazines are nifty, but good luck trying to find 5.7x28 ammunition for it in an emergency. Also- all 5.7 ammunition is made under license from FN, so it is all marked FN and comes from the same place. No other companies make it. It can be reloaded, but 9mm is so much easier to buy and reload than 5.7 FN.

    Another thing, FN will not sell replacement parts. The trigger assembly in the PS90 is one piece, all plastic, and just aft of the ejection port. The empty casings are thrown against it's angled surface to make them fly downward. This beats the heck out of the front side of the trigger assembly. Now, it may take multiples of thousands of rounds to break this piece, but once it's broken, you have to send your rifle back to FN. Forget that!

    That was the sole reason I sold my PS90. I loved shooting it, but if I can't source ammo for it, and I can't stock parts, what's the point?

    One of the reasons I choose surplus CZ's and like the UZI; they don't seem to have a history of breaking. If they do, parts are not too difficult to come by. Plus, 9mm is cheaper to reload and components/ammo are going to be much easier to find in the next few years than other handgun cartridges. The 9x18 Mak. is easy to reload once you get the hang of it, but loaded ammo is coming back around.

    I have a AR-57 for sale with 4 magazines and about 600 rounds of ammo; 5.7x28. The guy that wants me to sell it for him thought ammo would be plentiful, but it took a hit during this hoarding outbreak. It should come back around though. He only took this rifle to the range once...

    A lifestraw & tablets for water, a couple of firestarter tools and a means for shelter such as an emergency blanket would be highest on my list

    No offense intended, but wouldn't it be more practical to carry a pack or sling bag? Carrying a briefcase ties up one of your hands and in a tough spot, the briefcase may need to be abandoned.

    There are packs, sling bags and laptop type bags that can be had in low profile styles and colors. JMHO.

    No offense taken. Many times backpacks and sling bags draw attention. Did anyone realize the Secret Service agent in President Reagan's detail had an UZI in his briefcase? He was in a tough spot and simply dropped the empty case. In my case, it is to carry around without drawing attention while I am trying to make it home or to my rally point.
