I know many are against rewards cards and I am typically.... but I do have one for Safeway (grocery). The name and address are wrong on the card... but they never check and if they did... oh well. Though I do smile each time they call me the wrong name. I routinely save over a hundred a month in fuel cost just by using the card when purchasing food, then I think it is 4X the points for gift cards and pharmacy purchases. Like @kckndrgn said, we buy Home Depot gift cards prior to going there and picking up materials..... we are going to spend the money at HD anyways....might as well get a gas discount to boot. Safeway will only let you use up to 1.00 off per gallon for 25 gallons at one fill-up..... which is still not a bad deal if you are filling up 4 or 5 times a month with a truck fuel tank that will allow you to get all 25 gallons. The savings can add up to real money over the course of the year.
If the gas will not all fit in the tank, remember to use gas cans. Once you use the discount for (up to 30gal here) it is gone. Even if you only use ten gallons. Get ALL of your discount, leave nothing behind.
They want fuel prices to be even more here in WA.... following CA's lead on carbon emissions..... Stop the Inslee Gas Increase
We really want to go to Houston. We were supposed to take our honeymoon there. I'll check it out, thank you. Hubby got his cathotic protection cert from NACE there last year.
Hey, I noticed, this morning, when I went to gas up the Jeep. Walmart's gas stations, MurphyUSA, which normally offer 3-cents off a gallon if you use a Walmart gift card, are currently offering 10-cents a gallon, for using a GC. While it's not a lot, it was a whole lot nicer seeing $3.169/gallon on the pump display, than $3.269/gallon! Just in time for my road trip back home, too!
Cheapest in the area I've seen lately was $3.21, diesel's around $3.59. That's without going to too much trouble to find the very cheapest, but you can just as easily find $3.79 and $4.10 if you're careless and go to the places right on the Interstate.
