The horrors of war are poorly portrayed by pictures, oddly enough. The real horror is in the minds of the megalomaniacs that pursue it. IMHO, anyway. I'm pretty sure that there are equivalent pictures available from the other side of the fence caused by Katyushas, and I am sure they are equally gruesome. All that said, how many slaps in the face must a person or nation absorb before reacting? A hard question, that one. And react how, and with how much force?

Amen.... Its hard to look at those pictures and not think of your own family... Hope it never comes our way again ! Unfortunately.... I know better.... Find someone and give them a big hug...
War is Hell. And so it must be in that all sides should see the tragedy it brings and maybe one day it will be an unecessary thing. However until such time as the Power Hungry are stricken from the Earth, it will remain. We as a global civilization are a far piece from peace. As long as someone wants to dominate another there will be war and these are the consequences so often labeled 'Collateral Damage' or 'Acceptable Losses'. Wars are not fought on battlefields anymore. They are fought in the hearts and minds of people like you or I. And in order to do so, these sorts of tragedies are a great propaganda machine for those who seek to eliminate their enemies by showing the people of the opposing country that these things happen in order to make them get a handle on their leaders and avert war. However this does not work as is witnessed above. 'What at one time repulses us at a traumatic time, attracts us later in our lives' - Can't remember who said this though it is almost all of the time true. 'We have seen that this is tragedy and we have become numb to it, so we can then go forth and bring this type of tragedy upon the heads of our enemies and it will not turn away our anger.' This is a mistaken sense of 'revenge'. This type of vengeance only helps to spur other atrocities. Now, I say that tragedies like this will happen due to two things. Cowards who in the time of battle either use guerilla tactics and hide in civilian zones in the hopes that nobody would attack them, or they use the civilians as a 'buffer' for their factories of war. Of course they will be destroyed along with some casualties. The other group that causes these events are the 'Acceptable Losses' guys. 'If we hit this point we will destroy their ability to manufacture weapons and fuel for their war effort. So what if a thousand inncents get killed. Those are acceptable losses.' This is where we need to build a battlefield for those who wish to fight. One that is built on unbiased soil where both armies can meet and destroy each other without any civilian casualties. Will this ever happen? I do not think so. So I say, War is Hell. My two cents anyway.
