More LTS. With the way prices are going it's getting to be a bargain more and more.

Little over 10 pounds of bacon. We got a whole pork belly last week, cured it, smoked it yesterday, and just finished slicing and sealing it up. Of the three cures I tried, Maple Bourbon wins hands down. Going to get a couple more pork bellies this week and do them the same way.

Also a 13lb bag of baking soda, 2 more gallons of white vinegar, and 2 more pocket flashlights.

We could use a pic enhanced "how to do" this, belly to sliced, step by step. Well, think on it a bit anyway.

well, had to bite the bullet. This 10y.o. celeron desktop machine just ain't doing it no more.
dropped the hammer on a 4th gen i5 laptop from Lenovo (the OEM for IBM back in the day). it comes with 4gb memory which isn't going to cut it for what i need it for. 16Gb upgrade arriving at the same time. Unfortunately, upgrading the RAM voids the warranty (WTF?).

So Windows 8.1, Visual Studio 2013, SQL Server 2012, Xamirin and Mono here I come.

I want to see how this performs with the 500Gb HDD as considering i'm already voiding the warranty, I'm pretty tempted to drop in a 256Gb SSD. That may arrive next month.

    It's like Xmas in April.

Local store is having sales and I have coupons. My estimate is I put away 2 weeks of food- 2 meals a day for $22. Expiration dates are 2 years out so it will not be wasted.

I was actually able to take all of the household change, roll it up, and thus paid for the entire scope. Made the wife happy at least that it did not come out of the bank account....

WOOT ! Helped a neighbor with some yardwork and got free mason jars !

17 Quart jars and 9 pints. Some appear collectible and have bicentennial markings, "1776" on top above the Liberty bell and "1976" below the bell, Others have "Grandma's mason jars" embossed with an image of an old woman.

Kinda hard to get detail in the pics but they're all in great shape and be put to good use.

Got 5 hens yesterday (3 Rhode Island Reds and 2 White Plymouth Rocks) for the chicken tractor I built. Kids love 'em and the wife is happy we have something to take care of some of the bugs in the yard.
My only problem is I built the tractor too small, not for the birds, but I can't fit it over my raised garden beds. Guess I'll have to build a new one and get some more hens. Sucks darn it :)
