It's amazing that you can be very remote, and are home most of the time, but things go missing from time to time. I didn't used to lock my vehicles here at the house (2.4 miles off pavement, one way in and out, posted, gated at times), and one day when I was gone some creten open the door to the truck, popped the hood, and helped themselves to my truck battery. It's a crying shame I didn't catch the bashtards in the act. It would have been very interesting.

Very true. It's why I want a shipping container on my hunting property. Too many things have walked away. I want to be able to lock them up.

Just got 4 Spartan Armor Systems Level IIIA Soft Body Armor, 2 bottles of Fish Mox Forte- Amoxicillin 500mg (100 Count), And my first real sleeping bag- REI Igneo Down 19 Degree Sleeping Bag which will be used next weekend for the climb with the dog to the top of San Gorgonio Mountain. Last time up to the top I froze and the dog as usual was happy and warm.

Sadly, you are correct. Colorado restricts what can be done with the water that naturally falls upon the land that you own.

In Utah, ALL Water Rights are already allocated... If one needs to obtain Rights to Water, they must Purchase them from an entity that would be willing to sell some.

The irony is in my area there is plenty of water so much they are building storm water detention ponds all over to slow the flow into rivers to reduce flooding and reduce the sediment, the migratory birds latch right on to them.

I give a dern about local requirements.... to register, purchase or ban the individual, from that natural resource that falls upon my land!!!
We do not have to do any of that in WA... but if they did start to regulate in the future, here is my answer to that. [finger]
OPSEC is paramount to all of your provisions..... water is included. And if you did have a rain catchment or other means.... keep it on the down low, especially in any area that regulates it in whatever manner. Camouflage your system and tanks, and don't tell anybody. It falls into the "ain't your business category" neighbor..... God and mother earth have provided that resource to us, not the government.....in short, it is mine to use for subsistence as I see fit..... YMMV

After a long preparedness talk, we went for simplifying. Put in a new shelving system. With switching organizing etc.... I recognized areas that needed attention. Now with all the new shelving space, we can start putting away again.

I love Amazon & I hate Amazon. Ordered strawberry plants, lemon trees and some Mac apple trees all from my couch. I would love to patronize the local places but I saw their stock last year and for the price it was highway robbery.

There are a few nurseries around here, plus stores that have plants during the growing season, alot of stuff I wait til they're doing clearance sales to buy any. I want a couple oak trees on our place, for acorns, but they are pricey out here. One place wants $50+, another wants $150(special order).

I have 30 growing on my hunting land, also for acorns. These red oaks, were germinated, raised for a year at my home, then transplanted, each with it's own squirel-proof cage.
This is a long term goal, though. It will be nearly 20 years for full maturity and a mast crop. I hope to start some white oaks this year.

I have better luck during the "hail sales" we get nasty hail and they have steep discounts when there are about 10 leaves left on a tree. I found that the apple trees that I bought last year had incorrect tags.

BTW- they have oak seedlings on Amazon, real cheap. They are tiny and you may have to wait 5-20 years to get a nut but it is a start.

Oak trees cannot be shipped to Oregon. Same with blueberries, apricots, peaches, and I forget what else. Unless the regulations have changed in the last 2 years.
