Pictures from a 2 hr. road trip to my stepmoms house. Only one picture was taken away from road. I tried to show what you would see through the windshield or side window. These pics were at the end of the trip, this area is in the Coast Range just outside of Mist. Body of water shown is the Nestucca River.
Is all that your corner of the world??? It's so.....GREEN! and sooooo open! and soooo beautiful... Is it right near where you live? (and is this where you give me directions in time , not distance?) Thanks CC....Gorgeous!
Now if all those pictures were from the same plot of land and that was a thousand acres and selling for a dollar I would buy it rapidly. Great scenery. Makes me want a ranch in that neck of the woods.
Text edited in above... This area photographed is 1 1/2 hrs. to 2 hrs. from the house, almost to the coast. More coming.
Yep! It's not the distance that determines your ETA, it's the road that you must travel. LOTS of these:
2 largest land owners in the area pictured are timber companies and the gubberment. There are a lot more photo opportunities than what I posted to be seen in Oregon's Temperate Rain Forest.
Go to the head of the class. If you want to see a herd I'll have to wait till November. Last time I went out of season I didn't see squat at the Refuge. I guess the best time to catch 'em is Nov.- April, which is the wettest part of the year. It RAINS a lot of there.
GREAT idea!!! I'd LOVE to see more of our beautiful country!!! Here's what I can see Remember; distance is time. Time is measured from my doorstep to each location, not location to location. 5 minutes east, looking east: 3 minutes south, looking east (rhubarb field) 1 minute (if that) south of rhubarb field, looking east, upstream: full view of above photo ...and downstream side of same river, looking west: 3 mins southwest, looking downstream (west)... ...and upstream (east): 2 minutes west, looking downstream (south) (couldn't stop on the bridge, so this is a true drive-by): Is your head tilted to the left now? 5 minutes north, looking west... ...and east: C'mon, Everyone!! FIELD TRIP!!! Show off the beauty in your little slice of the world! Beaches and deserts and prairies. Oh my! I can hardly wait!!
SNOW. Pronounced (southernese) "Sno trouble at all, I'll be right over." It's cold... like the crushed ice in your mangoritas.
