Today loaded 50 more Burgers OTM's for 308, Picked up 2 bricks .22 last bricks I can find on island. Put money down on 9mm carbine just waiting for it to come in now.

Today we bought 50lbs each of dog food, poultry layer pellets, and cat litter, a 40lb bag of chicken scratch, 16lbs of cat food, two 5lb bags of doggie biscuits, 5lb container of Country Time Pink Lemonade Mix(mom likes it), and my Territorial seeds arrived(one packet each of Chocolate Ghost Peppers, Sorrento Broccoli Raab, Waooh Sunflowers, MacGregor's Favorite Beet, Strawberry Spinach, Snapdragon mix, Galilee Spinach, Aunt Molly's Ground Cherry, and Red Noodle Long Beans). My back HURTS! Putting that combined 206lbs of animal supplies into the shopping cart, then into the car, then at home into our garden cart to pull up to the house, then take it into the house was not back-friendly(that's not counting the various groceries we bought as well). Glad we're supposed to get 3 days of snow starting tomorrow so I don't have to go anywhere and can rest up tomorrow. Kind of hurts to walk right now.

Edited Addition: Forgot we also got a box of books at the library book sale(it's Wednesdays&Saturdays). I got a book on learning Greek, organic flower gardening(Rodale Press), a National Geographic map of world rivers, a Hawaii Volcanoes National Park map, a scifi book I've been looking for($1 at book sale, $7 on Amazon), and mom got a few things like an updated version of her medical terminology book, a collection/anthology I found that I showed her of politically subversive cartoons/comic strips, other books I didn't pay attention to, and a few DVDs. $16 in total for all that. Since it goes to help the library, it's our charitable donation

 

I buy the candles from the Mexican store. They are in glass and last forever. They also sell them at the dollar store. I use them outside on my porch all year too. Kinda like a hurricane candle because of the glass. I have quite a few stored in my shop just in case. So those are good. As for the Crisco, I will try those too. I think either put a small wick in it, or use a small candle inside of it and cover it with the crisco, or also it says to use some in like a spaghetti jar. Any jar would do.

We're in OR and expecting snow, too! Got all my shopping done today and ready to hunker down all weekend and install my kitchen tile.

 

Klamath County here, where they just declared a drought. We did all our non-food shopping yesterday, plus a few groceries. We try and do only 2 shopping trips a month. Still need our regular grocery trip to get done. But not in the snow/ice. We're good on the perishables for at least a week.

 

About 200 well read books of different genres I bought for about $10 to store in my BOL. I never did read Moby Dick when I was supposed to in school so I might after SHTF. There was some other gems in the pile also but I never have time or energy to read nowadays anyway.
