Torrential rains for the past few days didtate indoor activities so Mike Sadlak and I spent the afternoon photographing our favorite toys. The New: We recently produced two prototypes of our M14 Titanium Scope Mounts specifically for the Sage stock. The photograph shows that mount with an ACOG. Talk about weight! I wouldn't want to tote that thing around all day. The Old - TRW CMP loaner - a treasure for M14 lovers
Does it weigh more than the standard M14? Looks like a M14 with a high-tec magazine housing attached to a skeletal stock and a lot of carbon fiber where the nice wood usually goes; I wouldn't guess it would weigh as much as a wood stocked M14 until you add the mount and glass.
I didn't weigh it but I did handle both a Supermatch with wood stock (without glass) and the Sage, as well as the TRW with synthethic stock. By feel, the Sage outweighed them both. The ACOG is pretty light so I don't think it would add significantly. I'm interested in any difference in the recoil. Logic tells me that the standard stock has a greater mass to absorb the recoil whereas the Sage recoil is more concentrated. I'm not sure ye but hope to find out when the rains stop. If anyone has any information on this, I'd really like opinions. The Sage sure does have a "cool factor"
Guess it does weigh a bit more, according to Sage, it weighs in at 11.2 pounds; My Walnut heavy stocked rifle weighs 10.2 and my fiberglass stocked National Match weighs 10 even.
Yes it does! It looks like Darth Vader's gun. Was the mount a quick detach? It looks as though it is.
