Not sure... I used to be with the Back Country Horseman group years ago and we did ride up in that area but don't recall if that was a specific spot we went to, by that name at least. I will have to pull up the maps and take a gander...

I personally did not put anything away except 2 boxes of Winchester Super Target 12g. Unbenounced to me. The wife saw all the toys I have been racing to bring home before registration begins and showed up after work with a Mossberg 500 Combo from big5 (For her) an enidine buffer, Mesa Tactical stock adapter, Magpul MOE stock, Castle nut, & said put this together for me and I want the grip off your .50 Beowulf. Being as though she is 5'2" 92lbs southern california born Japanese, I had to laugh. She new the length of pull would be too long on the mossberg and got it all sorted out on her own. I am a proud husband. I completely converted her and her entire family from almost anti to begging me to take them all out to my private range. 8 people in total converted and my wife turned into an addict. So much so an addict that she jailed an AR lower when she picked up the mossy. She said she is going to build her own thats a lefty. I told her good, Youtube will become her friend because I have 4 to build myself and I won't have time to do hers in the next 6 months.

I've got other soldering irons (corded pen type) but this one runs on 4 AA batteries.
I don't need to find an outlet to plug into or an extension cord.

I can bring the soldering iron to the work and not vice versa.

I just repaired the dash cluster (tach and speedo stepper motors were shot) in the wifes' chevy and saved myself over 600 dollars over taking it into the dealer or almost 400 over taking it to the speedo shop.

took me a little over an hour to remove the trim, cluster, desolder motors, replace and solder in new motors and get it back in the truck.

for light gauge soldering, PCB work, this is the cats meow. For larger wire 10-12 ga (or larger) or needing to do production soldering, I'd probably stick with a traditional iron.

Heats up in less than a second and is cool to the touch once the tip is no longer in contact with the work.

No more inadvertent heating of say your finger tip trying to get accurate dot of solder at the post and solder pad.

Here we have a big ham on the table through the x-mas days. Just a big boiled and grilled ham. Anyways, you get them for 1/4 of the price in the supermarket now so I got a couple for the freezer. Have tried to defrost them in the past and it takes the best of two days in room temperature so I figure they'll keep the freezer cold when the lights go out.

1000 Rnds of Tula .223 from Cabelas. Only $259, watch the sales guys, try WikiArms.com

Just be careful of the shipping charges, many sites will allow you to throw the sale item in hte cart and not check out for days, accumulating 3 or 4 limited qty purchases of different items lowers your per/unit shipping costs.

Well mom is on the preparedness bandwagon now(she was kind of wishy-washy before she saw Doomsday Preppers), so at the store today we bought 2 big things of toilet paper for this month instead of just one. We usually only get a 12pack or so. And more cat/dog food(we have a small unopened dog food that will now be put in the storage area. And the cat food we already have(FYI, we buy the 16lb cat foods and 40+lb dog foods usually) hasn't been opened that long, so might not even get into the 2nd bag this month. Got more cat litter too. And I am experimenting with alternative sweeteners this year(trying to get away from processed and nutrition-less (white) sugar. Got a small thing of coconut sugar today, and tried some when we got home, and I like it. It's not THAT sweet as compared to white sugar, but I like the subtle toasted coconut flavor to it. Still wanna try agave, barley malt syrup, sorghum, maple sugar, and brown rice syrup though.

Don't have too much on this month's list yet because we only did most of the non-food shopping today. Still gotta do grocery shopping.

Edited note: When I said big things of toilet paper, we got two 24roll packs.

Well I already do honey, so I didn't bother putting it on the list. And it's Beverly Hillbillies' Granny's fault I wanna try sorghum.
And I did forget to mention that we did get a couple good deals on grocery items today, even though we weren't intending to. The natural foods refrigerated section had Brown Cow brand Coffee Yogurt for 49cents a container because it's getting close to the 'expiration date', so I got a couple, then mom saw them, I told her they were discounted, she went back and grabbed the remaining 6 on the shelf. And the store has shopping carts in the middle of one aisle that has their discounted stuff, and there was a 10lb bag of unbleached all-purpose flour that had gotten the bag torn somehow, and they had taped it back up and discounted it down to $2.99 so we grabbed it.

It means Long Term Storage. If you see an underlined term like LTS was, if you put your cursor over it, it will tell you what it means.

Like VH said Finster. Might apply to food or any product you use in daily life.Could apply to any thing you might need in an extended SHTF situation. It's the basic tenant of prepping.

Kellory is correct honey is a good one. Not only used for sweetener but has other uses. I have quite a supply of Wyoming honey. Lately I have been putting away pure maple syrup, it has medicinal purposes. I have close to 100 oz.
