http://thenewamerican.com/usnews/item/17025-california-city-bans-smoking-at-home Laaaaand of the free.....home of the slave.
This is all done in plain English and that plain English is saying that you are all slaves. Now what are you going to do about it?
Woooo! I love it! Want some more of it! Woooo! Seriously, though. I lived next door to a smoker, it permeated the walls and frequently made me sick. He's probably dead now, but he sucked. Nice to know some Californians also appreciate clean air. Of course, when we have to turn to government for solutions, we always get slavery. That's because government does not create liberty. Never has. This "law" pertains to shared dwellings, where the walls between split two domiciles or more. Typically, renters.
I don't like the smell of curry....does that mean the government should come in and ban my neighbors from cooking with it? In greater Vancouver there are almost no single family detached houses....and what few there are are INSANELY expensive to rent, let alone own. 4 Bedroom House on Caulfeild in West Vancouver BC If you had 2 kids....how would you afford $4800/month rent? It's bad enough when they come on my lawn...let along into my kitchen to tell me NO SMOKING. As far as 2nd hand smoke making you sick goes....a cheap negative ion generator would have sorted your problem. Keep snorting the DU....hoser.
Yup. As for the curry, you're comparing the "smell" of it with a dangerous, poisonous smoke. Want to hear my theory on nanotechnology, mind control and cigarette smoking? *cracks open a fresh DU round*
Judge Voids Study Linking Cancer to Secondhand Smoke - New York Times Perhaps the "smell" of it turns my stomach? Cancer rates continue to sky rocket while less and less people are smoking today. Explain that to me while you're at it. And yes - I know aboot Bernays and how they got women to start smoking.... Maybe we should just throw all smokers out onto the street and deny them jobs because their clothes smell.
Back in college, we lived in the married student housing, blocks of 8 units. Down the hill, in another block, a Pakistani grad student had a place, and the cooking was sufficient to gag a maggot at 100 yards when they did curry and the wind was right. Never could handle that.
If you are saying that hundreds of proven carcinogenic chemicals are safe just because they aren't being inhaled by the individual smoking the cigarette, I must disagree. We both know judges are corrupt, and the American Judicial System is no hallmark for right or wrong. I agree we don't need government to interfere, but we also shouldn't ignore the fact that the property owner(s) in question pertaining to this case is the Landlord, not the tenant. Of course, the real property owner is the State (and banks) in America, or the Queen in Canada, but I digress. The fact that smoking is hazardous and remains a potential fire hazard is also not absent this discussion; there are plenty of reasons to see why this "law" makes sense. Of course, I am against any "law" introduced by the establishment, especially under the guise of protecting the well being of the people. But, the sooner you accept your condition as that of a slave, the sooner we can get this show over with. Just hold on a bit longer...
The aroma of cooking meat on a grill will soon cause some plant eating Vegan to ask for a ban on grilling so they don't get sick from the smell. Im really sick of this crap. Agenda 21 is at hand. Get ready to have limits put on how much water you can pump out of your own well. Get ready to buy it all from George Bush or T-Boone Pickins. Water, air and fuel. These three things are coveted by the elite. You and I use too much of all of them. Domed cities powered by solar, all rural lands going back to wild. Etc Etc, Monsanto, green energy all tied in with Agenda 21.
Sry if I'm so hostile today.... Bad cold....possibly caused by doing a pretty aggressive iodine detox. *sigh*
Lol the convo just got good. The real problem is that cities are decaying rotting sores on the face of the world. Nothing good grows in a city. We should all abandon them and live as god intended us to, in nature.build your own house off grid. Move to any unincorporated area. Become self sufficient and grow healthy and strong. ...and if you can't follow my tangent, you can smoke all you want in your own home no matter how small it is... And cook what ever the hell you want.

Just a NOTE here: This City Ordinance is NOT Universal. It only applies to Residences, that share a common Wall, like Apartments, and Duplex/Triplex Dwellings, or those with common, Air, or Forced Air, Heating Systems. It does NOT cover Single Family Residences that are Stand Alone buildings, or those that do NOT share a common Wall, or Air, or Forced Air, Heating System. Just a FYI... YMMV.....
Iodine and Detoxification | Dr. Sircus " Iodine intake immediately increases the excretion of bromide, fluoride, and some heavy metals including mercury and lead. Bromide and fluoride are not removed by any other chelator or detoxifying technique. Dr. Kenezy Gyula Korhaz states that iodine chelates heavy metals such as mercury, lead, cadmium and aluminum and halogens such as fluoride and bromide, thus decreasing their iodine inhibiting effects[1]especially of the halogens." Good iodine flushes out bad stuffs....though it's not exactly pleasant.
