Our home away from home. Camp ninjas in the pavilion. Campfire time. Frost River's waxed canvas works great. Yesterday, I was in heavy rain for an hour. Water shed right off and the inside was bone dry.
What a beautiful evening! With the clouds dropping so low yesterday, I was expecting rain. But so far, we only got heavy condensation and lots of dew. Looks like I beat everyone to wake up, including the sun. So maybe in a little bit, I will do some sunrise taiji and qigong to greet the morning. For now, I am content to just lie by my family for a bit and watch sleeping monkeys. So far yesterday, we saw four feral cats, loads of birds and six pigs of various sizes up to about 200# in or around our camp area.
Years ago, when we formed our 4H group, I equipped all the kids with backpacks, water bottles, survival kits and stuff. Since the oldest kids were around 4 at the time, I did not include sharps (except for nail clippers), fire stuff, meds, or signal mirrors. So yesterday, I gave the kids goodie bags to round out their kits. They all got multitools, signal mirrors, fire kits and the cravats that they used as bandanas, ninja hoods, belts, and whatever else their imagination came up with. It was cute at one point where a bunch of the kids sat down in a group and all gathered sticks and went at them with their new multitools.
Some tough girls. And some of the things they did with their new multi-tool. Our youngest tough girl camper.
Believe those kids are having fun---and will remember it well. Still have a 4-H plaque I made @ 50+ years ago at camp.
I didn't go fishing with the monkeys this time around. Instead, opting for some quiet time at camp. The monkeys always have a good time fishing. It's really overcast, but I still have the Solar Joos going...topping off my phone.
You have a beautiful family Hanzo. Enjoy all these times together, they grow up so fast! They are so lucky to have all of these memories as they get older.
We also had music More camp crafts I didn't make Apache throwing stars this time. We had some younger kiddies. And more snacks.
Mahalo. I feel blessed. I have a great family. We are healthy. Got awesome friends, like our very own Bear. Live in paradise. What more could I want?
Even the view from the bathroom is nice. The heavens descended and blessed us as we packed up to go home. Sassy monkey ready to go home. Don't ask me about the shoe.
