My guess is that someone there owns a hat company, and they wanted more business...

 

Having known more than a few jarheads I'm betting this ain't going over well.

 

So if the Army and Air Force also changed covers totalling three service branches, would this whole thing be a hat trick?

Oh, I don't know... It does look like a twist off bottle cap....it might just catch on with "jar heads"

 

The MC had considered changing to beret's in the 70's.. Did not go over well.

 

We shot down berets in the '80s as well.

 

Was to french for my taste..

 

This I know.. AB paratroops do not drop their knickers when the enemy shows up on their door step, as the french have done..

 

Can't say I like them makes the marines look like sea going bell hops....
