Anyone else aware of the number of commanding officers being relieved of their commands due to lack of confidence in their ability to lead their command ?? To have someone relieved is nothing unusual, but it is the number of them that is unsettling.. These reports are from the military branch publications, ie; Marine Corps Times..

Tending to think that someone is placing more compliant commanders in place..

Nope, all that I have watched and followed as they destroyed their careers are pretty much scum bags. Ego and greed did them in.

I'd be glad to hear your opinion on any you think that have been "pushed" out.

Am afraid that I have not followed this as close as I should have.. Can think of a Marine Corps officer that had been very highly thought of was relieved.. Will see if I can find something more specific and post it here..

Army, Navy, Marine and Air Force have been busted.

Military. com has posted ,at a guess, 6 in the last year. From sexual problems, meaning breaking the rules, to theft to other problems that go against their oath and the trust others have in the commands.

Have no fear, there are plenty of commissioned officers without a conscience or soul to fill the rosters.

One might hope that the downsizing of the military is allowing for some weeding out --

I would agree 90% of those fired did some thing that justified the action of removing them. I left the military after countless awards and hard work meant nothing towards getting a promotion. Unit vacantcy programs, and the movement of NCO's out of thier carrer AFSC's prevented alot of people from ever getting propmoted, and a lot of good people walking away. I strongly support a 75% cut in the military, there is only one reason to spend 52% of the worlds military expenses for this country, that is to force other countries to use the world currentcy. Which is coming to an end soon.

Occasional one, What I saw was enlisted females dumping thier enlisted husbands to hook up with some officer. On ocasion some high ranking general knocking up some enlisted female. I noticed all the time that good looking enlisted females made Msgt in like ten years working admin. While the rest of us were told yout not elgible for TSGT until you have 12 years time in service. I had a top secret clearance, two year degree in aircraft maintence, and a FAA airframe and powerplant license. After twelve year of nothing but time in grade promotions I quit. Good part about it I was a millionaire from a stock purchase I made. Not missing the crap a bit. I couldn't work hard enough to get promoted or score high enough. I scored the highest on a seven level test in the history of the 162 ANG, it meant nothing, hundreds of awards mean nothing. To this day nothing that remiinds me of the military is displayed in my home. The only way to balance the US budget is like a 75% cut of all military spending, there's nothing else they can cut to make a difference.

Had anticipated some firings of commanders in the Air Force relating to lax handling of nukes in Minot, However it would appear that the navy is really tearing it up.. Most appear to be justified, don't run your ship into another one.. Marines relieved relating to deaths during training or murders / suicide in their command.. And then theres the ones that are relieved for lack of confidence in command abilities and no other reason given.. commander that lead troops in combat.. Still, have this unsettled feeling.. Oh crap, Time to sandbag the basement door. LOL!!

Troy, your expiriences may not be the same as others. Just saying. I watched changes coming in the military and chose to get out, and these changes do happen at the end of some conflict .. Always theres the downsizing and the increase in expectations of conduct.. But to be relieved for sailors, in your command, getting drunk and making ass's of themselves??

Yes, if discipline in the ranks is not addressed adequately.

As a young Jar Head, I learned that if you get caught in your drunkin debouchery, you where to stand tall and take what was coming.. It was expected that the command had to address your actions.. Understood!! I didn't get caught.. I did not embaress my command.. Oh the stories never told to the wife...

The 3 I noticed were good ,hard men with squeaky clean records minus a few tattoos.ex( Former MacDill commanders, Marine General James Mattis , General David Petraeus, and Lieutenant General John Allen ,all replaced under Obahamies tenure.) Then replaced with A gedunk army general who would comply with the jes' shoot 'em order. just to name a few that can be named.....

And buy the way if they had done what the papers had said they had done then they would not have their retirements.... They all retired without getting a slap on the wrist .....
